Fox in the North Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 He's had a pretty strong season with Everton, he'd be a great addition to the squad.
davieG Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 There's always the option of... Barry King Drinky You can't base your whole season on a single formation and the same 11 starting players. You need back up and options to change the game. I don't think Drinky, James, King and Barry are as similar as some are making out the all have different plus and minuses.
katieakita Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 You can never have too much experience, if you're comparing this to Micky Adams' idea of experience then stop it. Barry is an excellent midfielder who's premier league experience will be a major asset to any team, you'll appreciate this when he eventually joins Everton, however if IF Nigel and the gang can pull this off it could well be the difference between having a mediocre season - brilliant season. Sorry have to pull you up on that. Ricky (over the) Hill had probably about 5 years to much experience and as a youngster i remember David needlessly handled Webb and Geordie Armstrong who looked like Bernie.
Thracian Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Can't understand the negativity over Barry. We've signed better quality footballers at City in our time and we're entitled to set our sights as high as we choose. If City are as ambitious as they suggest I could imagine Barry doing far worse than coming here. And a lot of other half decent players.

65RosesFox Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 The idea that Gareth Barry would come here is verging on madness. The notion that we wouldn't want to accommodate him as he would make our team worse is certifiable. One step beyond...
crisp packet Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Away from home why couldn't all three play??even at home vs your top 6/8? We ain't going to win games as easy as we did this season... In our wide players we have flair , enough to create chances! (One more needed though). I'd sign barry all day long .No brainer...?
RowlattsFox Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 You've also got the option of Drinkwater in a narrow right role in which Pearson has used him at points. Saying that though I can't see any reason why Barry would come here.
PAULCFC Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 This is really a no brainer.....If and it's a big IF he doesn't want big wage's and he would be happy to be part of the squad that we allready have here, then get him in.
Trumpet Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Drinky Barry Albrighty Knocky Mahrezy Vardy Much better.
HankMarvin Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Unbrellaring a pony???? Fadh i'm aware before i get some dweeb correcting me
Alf Bentley Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 More chance of us signing barry blue They'll be dancing on a Saturday night in Leicester if that signing comes through... I don't want to throw Mud but that sounds like a load of Rubettes to me. Next thing you'll tell me we're in for the young Irish international Gilbert O'Sullivan (could be some disciplinary issues with his "bad dog" antics) and that Big Barry White is going to be our new stopper (he's there first, he's there last, he's our everything!). Quite rolled away the stone on the year 1973 for me there, Mott...I mean, mate.
Filbert_Ross Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 3yr deal, 60k a week, going Everton according to the Sun.
st albans fox Posted 4 June 2014 Posted 4 June 2014 3yr deal, 60k a week, going Everton according to the Sun. if true then he would be a mug to turn that down. perhaps another player using our apparent financial 'muscle' to drive a better deal. of course, having just completed his huge contract at man city, it may no longer be all about money for him but a three year deal at everton on good dosh is tough to walk away from.
