ousefox Posted 7 August 2014 Share Posted 7 August 2014 Forgot to add Inglorious Bastards to the list. Thought that was crap. Probably not a classic though. Think Saving Private Ryan is very very overrated too.

Tielemans63 Posted 7 August 2014 Share Posted 7 August 2014 Might upset a few people here but I've seen 5 or 6 Bond films and they do nothing for me at all. I knew exactly how the plot was going to develop in each and that kills a film for me. Look beyond all the style and there's next to no substance there imho. Matrix is a good shout btw. Boring as shit I thought.

DennisNedry Posted 7 August 2014 Share Posted 7 August 2014 Does anyone think of Bond films as 'classic'? Some of the old Bond films are classic, yeah. And who said Saving Private Ryan is just wrong - it's a fantastic film.
Adster Posted 7 August 2014 Share Posted 7 August 2014 Has to be Star Wars. Never even found them in the slightest bit interesting. And Titanic, boring.
Kitchandro Posted 7 August 2014 Share Posted 7 August 2014 The Russian roulette scenes are good entertainment in the Deer Hunter but the first hour of the film is mind-numbing. It would be much better if it was an hour shorter. Totally agree with that. In fact the Russian roulette scenes are utterly brilliant. But the rest of it is just boring. I'd also go with the Matrix, Lord of the Rings, any of that geeky crap. Stupid, comic book stories jazzed up with fancy special effects. Yawn. I didn't think much to The Good The Bad and The Ugly. None of the characters are likeable and none of them have an ounce of depth, the story is hardly imaginative or interesting, some scenes are seemingly thrown in randomly in a half hearted attempt to add something more to it, and pretty much the whole thing just feels like a forced build up to the end scene. Great soundtrack though, maybe that's why it's so popular.
Kitchandro Posted 7 August 2014 Share Posted 7 August 2014 I can't believe Saving Private Ryan and Gladiator have been mentioned. I'm horrified. 2 of the best films I've ever watched.
