ramadaone Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 I see no point in changing the Manager but have to admit he got a fair few things wrong today with regard to team selection and tactics. Please remember he hasn't managed in the Premiership before so you could argue he is still learning his trade Does he warrant being given that time to learn on the job ? Is there anyone out there readily available who could do a better job ? Think the answers are yes and then no ...
NeilLCFC Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Extremely shit tactics. NP looks out of depth in the premiership
Onikage82 Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Watched the game and feel like we just let Man u take the points. I think we need James back and Dean Hammond in the middle, Andy King doesn't add value to any system we play to accommodate him, we have tried, no thanks. This Lex Immers looks like the man we need, with maybe another defensive midfielder like Matic or Yaya that gives us a spine to the team. Can't wait to get Huth into the team, we need a agile tall strong cleave player besides him like a Ricardo Carvalho type next to Huth. We are not a million miles away, from clicking together. It's not hard to see what to do, Nigel has given some of these lot a fair few chances.

It's not hard to see what to do, Nigel has given some of these lot a fair few chances. Maybe that's the problem. Look how few opportunities to screw up there were for players the last time we went up and stayed up. Watts played half a season and was rarely to be heard of again. Lewis and Hill had a couple of games and then they were gone. Lawrence was out of the picture by the end of the season having only started 6 or 7 games, so was Whitlow. Rolling barely kicked a ball. When our manager brought in players they had a chance, and if they didn't take it they'd be out for a long time - even though we had a much smaller squad - look at how long it took for Cottee, Savage, Taggart, Gilchrist to get a proper run in the side. And then there are your Gunnlaugssons, Fentons, Charlie Millers who (with the possible exception of Zagorakis) didn't make more than a dozen starts in their whole careers. Less games than Vardy, Nugent, De Laet, Konchesky,King and Drinkwater have played in one season. The PL is ruthless. Sides tend to be ruthless with the players who let them down. They may get 4 or 5 games, but they rarely get the half season which some of our players have been given. And it's not like it's down to lack of alternatives. How often have Albrighton, Knockaert, Cambiasso, Mahrez, Simpson, Ulloa been sat on the bench this season? And how often, after coming in and putting in a shift, have those players found themselves back on the bench to make way for Vardy, Nugent, De Laet, Konchesky, King, Drinkwater a game later? Either our manager demands more or we go down.
Dr The Singh Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 in reply to nobody in particular.... i'm not bothered by the loss... i fully expected it.... what i didnt expect was what came out on the pitch wearing our ****ing blue shirts... shower of disinterested pisspots who couldn't put together 2 ****ing passes This
Monsell1976 Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 I thought the lads did well to keep the score down, this was Man Utd not Barnsley We scored a good goal and looked competitive 2nd half against a much better team Can't expect to win them all, onwards and upwards It was like a pre season friendly in the end for utd, got the 3 goals and they took it easy, and we looked up for it for 10 minutes towards the end, when it was already over as a contest, not the second half.Never expected to walk over utd, but I expected city to turn up, and have a go at them, not just try for 10 minutes.
Guest Cujek Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Nugent on Albrighton on Kramaric off Ulloa off Baffling.
VinceNoir Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 We were toothless, but I loved it when Wasyl scored. His celebration was top, you could just tell that he was fvcking over the moon
RUDZY Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 A STINKER! In The First Half / Better In The Second We allowed their wide players too much time and space, causing us to panic and lose our shape. Better to play 5-4-1 and go for man to man marking, this way we could of at least secured a point. Good to see the Manager spotting this and bollocking those who were slacking, ball watching, and hoping someone else would do the job. Second half put right we looked more like getting something out of the game. GAME CHANGING: OFFSIDE FOR THE FIRST GOAL CAMBIASSO a calming effect and good distribution ALBRIGHTON positive runs and crosses NUGENT solid runs and inventive DRINKWATER did well and needs encouraging MAN OF THE MATCH(for us) MARCIN WASILEWSKI made up when he nutted the ball in the back of the net POSITIVES We are still in the Survival Pack - but we need to tighten up if we are going to progress. KEEP THE FAITH
Leicesterpool Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Well didn't expect much pre match, but to be fair until the first goal we seemed to be doing all right, soon after that cock-up from the new Croatian the teams confidence went and the team seemed to fall apart. Tactics was questionable what as Albrighton got to do to get a start!? to be honest when the three changes were made we seemed to have a bit of ago but it may have been a little too late. Lets face it Man U weren't that great, yeah better than us but if we played the right tactics maybe Leicester could have got something. Wasilewski man of the match for me, not just cause of his goal but defending didn't put a foot wrong. On Nigel lets face it on this forum your not allowed to question his decisions. Anyway luckily everyone near the bottom lost so it's as you were.
yorkie1999 Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Fans were pretty loud, I was sat dead opposite next to their singing section on a freebie . Bad experience having to stand and clap when they scored and sit in silence when we scored. Probably wouldn't have mattered if I did jump up seeing as there were only abou 3/4 english speaking people around us.
MC Prussian Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 It's the sort of price you pay as a new arrival when you want to impress the manager away at one of the most famous football grounds in the world. Sadly, Kramaric is neither a defender nor a midfielder, so I wonder what the **** he was doing right in front of our back four, trying to clear the ball. It was well and truly a veritable facepalm move. I hope he's learnt his lesson for the Crystal Palace game.
theessexfox Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 I flicked on Football First: Match Choice about an hour ago and watched Drinkwater half volley it upfield with no one within a 50 metre radius of where he placed it and I had to flick over again.
lee7 Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Nugent needs to be back in the first team! When he plays we play well. I know he doesn't score (which he is on the pitch to do) but his link up play is good. Albrighton aswell needs to be starting, when he's on he creates chances.

steveherbe Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Morgan is rubbish! Marcin is brill. Love MOTD. Fans sounded good, well done lads.
Clever Fox Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Kramerics mistake was unfortunate, caused by frustration at not getting a sniff of the Ball. Seen it many times players just want to get into the game and end up making a mistake. It didn't help but it wasn't the reason we lost.
The Doctor Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Kramaric messed up, but the linesman has to take all the blame, no excuse for not spotting that. Sheer incompetence again but I'm passed being surprised by the shit standards - until the fa admit that our refs are capable of being corrupt or wrong, nothing will change. Looked like blind gave an elbow out before the second as well... Can't blame the refs in this case, we were second best, as a lot of newly promoted teams are there, but it's yet another game where we're essentially playing against 12.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Which formation will he come good in?!Bloody good question . . .
orbison Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 So is the same cycle about to happen again? Nugent doesn't start for a few matches, always coming on as a sub and improving what was up until then an absolutely useless performance, everybody begins pretending they like him again, he starts a few matches and suddenly, wow, we look decent how incredible, but then he misses a sitter or two and everybody calls for his head thank goodness someone who gets it, for my money as a team player and affect on the team as a whole we play better with david nugent playing, also pearson keeps making the same mistakes, only a fool never learns from his mistakes, or worse an arrogant egotist, pearson was discussing tactics today with shakespeare who looks like he would struggle crossing a road without getting knocked down, gawd help us.

Phube Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 I think Nuge would be great in a CAM role now I was just gonna say that, as he causes trouble and links up play well, but can't score for shit... Why not an attacking midfield role?
chapero82 Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 Fair enough if that's your preference, we're all for equality on Foxestalk - but I don't think playing skins is within the rules of the game. Lmao the new predictive text did not work so great
