can we loan pearson to ipswitch?

seriously - has any non playing member of staff ever been sent on loan?

If it's possible, sack Shakespeare off or send him to hull/villa/sunderland/burnley because he is a ****ing useless toad of a man.

Yeah, ok. First off, lets not forget Pearson signed this player. Knockaert started the start of the season and I think we all concluded he wasn't good enough. Whether he gets better, we don't know yet but this season Mahrez and Schlupp have been better options for the way we play and have also had better seasons.

"Personal favourites" what a load of rubbish. And as for "he's going to turn us into a train wreck", he's the most stable manager we've had at this club for years. Remember what he's achieved off the field too.

Right, to start I haven't forgotten Pearson signed him. I also know that Pearson hasn't played him that much and players tend to develop their skills the more they play. Personal favourites may not have been the right phrase but how else do you account for his refusal to rest players like Morgan or Schwarzer? I am not questioning what he has done for the club and I'm stilly fully behind him. I just think that he would do well to remember that he has other options in certain areas.

The GK issue agree with you there, he's got it wrong for me and Hamer should be number one. Morgan is captain, and that doesn't make him undroppable but I can't see it happening. That said, didn't he drop Matt Mills when he was captain? I just don't get the "favourites" remark which I hear on here and on RL, every manager has their "favourites".

In regards to news that Knocky's going out on loan:

What did you actually expect? He's still a young developing player and needs to be playing football. Going from 40ish games a season to 10 sub appearances can be really detrimental to a players natural development and experience. Knocky has fallen down the pecking order as you expect after being promoted - Mahrez is just far superior playing on the right wing. Backing Mahrez up: Albrighton, a name many including I want to see on the pitch which is hard seeing as Mahrez / Schlupp are our performers and go-to guys so often. What happens when they dont? Nugent/Vardy did enough vs Everton to gain us a vital away point.

The question Pearson asks himself is wheteher or not Knockaert is good enough to make an impact on the game, without being a hindrance to our game, because Knocky is a much different style of player than both Schlupp and Mahrez. Some say 'play him in a free role' behind the striker - I don't think he's capable of sucsessfully pulling the strings as an attacker when his game has so often proved his overt selfish behavior on the ball and inability to look up - not to say he doesn't do the opposite at times, just in the prem you don't get the time and space to operate a a player behind the striker, you have to make it happen for you. Kramaric in his few games has shown his skill at creating space and time for him to create options for others or himself, Nugent amazingly can get into positions and attack, although i'd rather we not play a man behind the striker at this point. On the wing, Knockaert isn't quick enough, he can't dribble fluently enough without losing the ball - but he's got flair and skill which we at times do need.

I'd like to see Knockaert actually go out on loan to a top Championship team and run the show, prove to the management that he's got a role to play at the club next season and earn a contract. If he doesn't perform, then it's down to Pearson if he thinks we'll be better without him - I think we'll need especially if our key players leave. If he's rejected a loan move away and is content in playing for the U21s and seeing his contract out, then sorry, but he doesn't deserve a place in the squad.

I trust Pearson's and the coaches judgement on this one.

Knocky, this man would be in my team every week, playing at nr 10, not on the wing, but sitting behind the striker.

Critic on lack of pace is rubbish..there has been many Top class players who havent had the pace.

Our own at present...Cambiasso, Drinkwater, Hammond, and James hasnt used the pace he has.

Knocky has been one of our clever players, why since November he hasnt been trusted in this responsible position, has been

my one real moan over NP. 11 appearances, but I dont think any fullgame ( maybe wrong).

Not playing him for me why we havent held near pos.16-17th.

Dont get me wrong he wouldnt have been the saviour, but would of held that 10 position well and consistently..IMO.

Should of given him at least a 5-8 full game run.

For years we've wanted players who are here to wear the badge and not just for the money.

Knocky obviously loves City and its good to see he doesn't want to go out on loan because he wants to fight his way into the first team which I completely agree- Mahrez is fatigued, we depend on him way too much and he has DONT forget half a season with us, World Cup, playing every week again days before ACON, all through the tournament and days after playing for us again.

Schlupp looks a lost cause lately, don't know what is wrong with him but his head is not in the game!

So looking at that Knocky should be banging on the door and at least sitting on the bench!

The whole thing that annoys me with this situation is not that he could go out on loan but his contract situation- a good developing player with flair and a desire to play for us and we still fail to offer him something still! If we go down, which is likely to happened he will be one of our best players again next season after Mahrez has gone.

If anyone can give me an explanation as to why Morgan, Kasper/Schwarzer, Konchesky, Nugent are getting played regularly then I might think differently.

Wild guess, because he thinks they are better than the alternatives.

Morgan - Up until the last couple of weeks we've only have three fit centre backs. So to have dropped Morgan before the last few games you would have had to play Moore, who most people will admit has been every inch as bad as Morgan. Having him in over Was may seem harsh, but there could be tactical reasons potentially, such as trying to keep control of the ball more. Was and Hamer have awful distribution stats.

Konch - We have no other left back. Pearson was slated for playing De Laet there by some on here, so the only other option is Schlupp. Who whilst being good whilst attacking from left back proved last year, the defensive side of it he's nowhere near ready for.

Nugent - He's not even a starter at the minute, but perhaps it's just me who thinks we've often improved with him getting on the pitch.

Keepers - Whilst perhaps harsh on Ben, the management see him day in and day out. He could be awful in training and that prompts them no not go with him.

Considering we were rumoured to have paid a couple of million for him, it'd be a bit foolish to let him go for nothing in the summer surely. That, and he'd be a very good player to have next season anyway.

He cost £750k and he's under 24 so we would get money back on him. We also can't force him to sign a contract... do we know he hasn't rejected a new one or didn't want to discuss one in the summer?

Our player continues to be our player

Wonder if the above as a headline would have attracted a few hundred comments? Most of which boil down to the usual Pearson out debate

Nigel has a cunning plan, they will both get 45 mins each,a toss of a coin will decide which half they will play.

dunno bout you but the thought of a toss up between Schwarzer and Schmeichel would be worth a watch.

How do you know he wants to play for us, how to you know he didn't refuse to go into contract negotiations, how do you know the article he was "misquoted" in was all true. It could be that he had no intention of staying, didn't want to start talks about a contract and wanted to be off somewhere else in the summer.

We just don't know, so lets no make out he's a true blue and it's all the clubs fault.

Agree with you to an extent, don't know how much he wants to stay here and if he wants to move elsewhere.

Just reading between the lines I think he does enjoy this club, we have him a big opportunity and I think after the Watford incident shown how good is City fans can be.

I know a lot of players are only interested in money nowadays and it is rare to see players that play for the club rather than the money but I do get the impression he has a lot of love for Leicester.

From what I know he is settled in Leicester with family etc and gets on with all the players so would you want to leave a club that you enjoy and fans like you? He could of gone Ipswich and got game time with the hope for them to sign if they get in the premier but maybe he feels he still has more to give us so happy to bide his time?

Off point, but I think Schlupp has improved a lot this season. Still a bit iffy at times mind!

That's far too reasonable and balanced to be posted on a football forum

Knockaert is one of those players that will always divide opinion. When he plays people moan about no end product, when he doesn't he's the missing piece of the puzzle. When he supposedly said we were a stepping stone earlier in the season, he got dog's abuse, now apparently others will tell you he "clearly loves the club". I'd have to wonder why if he's that highly rated more clubs, maybe higher than Ipswich haven't come in for him.

I've seen a few players on the pitch such as Konchesky and Drinkwater shouting at him and doing the finger to head thing to get him to use his head and focus in the few games where he's played or come on, so there's clearly a thought amongst the players that he needs a boot up the arse occasionally to get him to remember his role on the pitch. But I always think back to the Villa game where he did as much as anyone on the pitch to earn the points with a great all round display and got high fives from quite a few players for tracking back and doing his bit. I'm happy for him to stay and as I've said I think he suits the current formation more than Jeff who's finishing and delivery are so random it's laughable.

"Pearson only plays his favourites" really is the most laughable argument I've ever heard. What should he do? Not play who he believes to be the best players? I'm pretty sure the same group would be using that against him as well if it transpired that was the case.

Some on here clutch at straws when it comes to bashing Pearson and I don't get why, there's plenty to pick at him for this season other than stupid, sense-deprived arguments like that one.
