David Hankey Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 Blatter to my mind apart from making some monumental boobs in recent years not least in taking the World Cup to the desert of Qatar needs replacing at the earliest opportunity. How at the age of 85 can he control the worldwide game of football? Him being in office makes football a laughing stock and I can't believe there is no-one else, someone with younger blood who cannot put football back in it's rightful place. The sooner this happens the better for our nationall and international game.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 The time for Blatter to go was years ago.
Alf Bentley Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 He's only 78 according to Wikipedia. Plenty of years left on his clock. After all, Mugabe is 91 and still doing a great job running Zimbabwe....
Dan Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 He should've gone years ago. The man is an absolute disgrace and the fact he's still in power absolutely embarrasses the sport in my opinion.
Guest MattP Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 He'll win another term as well. That's what happens when you give the whole world an equal vote and so many nations are corrupt.
stevelcfc Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 The corrupt vile being should never have been elected in the first place, however we'll probably be stuck with him until he's croaked it because he just pays everyone off.
yorkie1999 Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 Bring in Bernie Ecclestone, as long as his daughter is allowed to buy Leicester as her play thing.
Kitchandro Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 This thread title just made me laugh. As if it was some sort of controversial comment
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 Been a poison on the game for a very long time and either nobody wants to or nobody can do anything about it. Almost enough to make you follow Rugger.
Crinklyfox Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 I don't care how old he is, he's been the face of FIFA during a period where there have been significant accusations of corruption. This is the premier body for the worlds premier sport and either FIFA should openly clean up its act, preferably but allowing the Swiss police to investigate corruption charges without hindrance, or it should be replaced by a body in which the public has trust. The next President of FIFA has a vital job on his hands, and to be credible it can't be Blatter.
RonnieTodger Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 You're right, he was doing such a great job, but he's really lost the plot recently.
RoboFox Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 Blatter, and FIFA on the whole is utterly out of control and thinks itself untouchable. The whole ethics report debacle was the rotten cherry on top of a giant s**t-cake of recent years. FIFA cannot be reformed and should be dismantled, and the FA should be the first to walk away.
tom27111 Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 I'm honestly baffled by this, it really is beyond belief! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32342080 Fifa president Sepp Blatter likened to Jesus & Nelson Mandela Sepp Blatter has been likened to Jesus, Nelson Mandela and Winston Churchill as 10 Concafaf members gave their backing to the incumbent for the Fifa presidency elections in May. The declarations were made at the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) congress. Dominican Republic FA president Osiris Guzman compared the Swiss to iconic historical figures, also including Moses, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King. "Membership is sending a message that we continue to support Blatter," said Concafaf president Jeffrey Webb. Blatter is one of four candidates. The others are ex-Portugal international Luis Figo, Dutch FA chief Michael van Praag and Jordanian Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, who, along with Blatter, were all present at Thursday's congress, but did not give speeches. The Trinidad & Tobago Football Association praised Blatter, 79, as the "father of football". The heads of football federations from Jamaica, Haiti, Turks & Caicos, Cuba, Panama, St Vincent & the Grenadines and Puerto Rico also expressed their support for Blatter, who is seeking a fifth term in office - having been in power since 1998. There are 41 Concacaf member associations. The election will take place in Zurich on 30 May.
Kitchandro Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 The only thing wrong with Sepp Blatter is that he's still breathing! Has, single -handedly turned FIFA into a despised, mistrusted body! That's not fair, he may be the figurehead and more in-your-face about it than others but he's just one of many corrupt people in the organisation who only care about money. FIFA want you to think he's the only villain so they look squeaky clean when he finally leaves/dies, but in reality he didn't have the only vote in the Qatar world cup, did he? When he's gone there'll be someone else just as diabolical to take over. It's more or less a criminal organisation, almost like the Mafia.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 It baffles me how people give him support, but money talks I'm afraid...
Voll Blau Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 Osiris Guzman sounds like an accomplished jazz musician.
tom27111 Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 Osiris Guzman sounds like an accomplished jazz musician. Or a skin condition.
Unabomber Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 My best mate wrote a good song about sepp blatter to the tune of "hey soul sister" I know the first line was "hey sepp blatter, does it really matter, if the World Cup is played in the winter" forgot the rest tho

No point whinging about it, the next bloke will be just as bad.

For many people in FIFA, he has, freed them from poverty, enabled them to walk with presidents and kings and taken on and defeated all challengers. I can see the similarities!

This idea that anyone over 40 is somehow a geriatric imbecile is about as fair as saying some kid of 28 can't possibly have the experience to be a competent surgeon.
