UPinCarolina Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 The Premier League has a set of testes. La Liga? Not so much.
orangecity23 Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Imagine having a front 4 of Gardener---------Fletcher---------------Morrison ---------------------Lambert------------------------- Think I'd be sick And behind it, a defence entirely comprised of centre backs, with a centre back sitting in midfield in front of them. Total football.
Jimothy Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Ed Balls Are you reenacting his infamous tweet?
john ridley Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Shows one thing really well that we all know, but pundits don't! Our defence is now quite good, only 3 teams let in less. Yet still we're tagged as being leaky at the back!? Be interesting to see the form table over the next 6 matches , could have a different look about it.
Harry - LCFC Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 In this league the referees will ignore the childish antics you see in Spanish games. You start rolling around for no reason here and all you are doing is costing your team a man. That should be a booking too. The player's intention is to increase the punishment dealt to the opposing team. It's a clear form of simulation, just simulating an injury rather than a foul.
Donut Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Proving a player has dived, and proving a player is feigning injury is extremely difficult in all but the most obvious cases
Riot Van Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Proving a player has dived, and proving a player is feigning injury is extremely difficult in all but the most obvious cases Agree with the latter but proving a player dived with all the camera angles is not particularly difficult anymore
Harry - LCFC Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Proving a player has dived, and proving a player is feigning injury is extremely difficult in all but the most obvious cases If all we can do is give players a mild disincentive to play-act then that's what we should do. I agree it probably wouldn't get applied much but it should still be a rule that's introduced to the game.
waylander Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Then obviously they should be banned in the obvious cases three games should do it .
MC Prussian Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Arsenal in talks with Mohamed Elneny. The Egyptian midfielder, at present with FC Basel, could join as early as in the following January transfer window. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/35187793
The Doctor Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 should be a £40 donation to the forum for his idiocy Stones and glass houses come to mind... Ed Balls appointed to the Norwich City board - FFP compliance guaranteed for them then.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 No issue with diving. In fact I think the fad has died down a little in the last couple of years. Defenders are making better judgements, and players getting carded for falling over have cut it right down. You do see players exaggerating contact but I think that is also a way of avoiding injury. As in, you know there is going to be contact but there's no point going into a clash full blooded if you can use a split second to get out of harms way. In this league the referees will ignore the childish antics you see in Spanish games. You start rolling around for no reason here and all you are doing is costing your team a man. Agreed, like the 'dive' in the Swansea vs West Brom game (Mcnananammanamananman?) I wouldn't say that was a dive - it was an attempt to avoid expected contact that never came - the way the defender shaped to him, it looked like he was going to be clipped, but the defender risisted at the last second which made it look a 'dive'.
MC Prussian Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Not exactly the signing that will drive them towards the title I would think. They need to fill their vacancies - a lot of injured midfielders on Wenger's list or players who are doubtful. Cazorla, Ramsey, Arteta, Coquelin, Wilshere...
st albans fox Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Wonder if Howe will rest some players today and look towards our fixture as more of a chance of a result ?
Livid Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Swansea make 8 changes to a winning side. Almost like they have written today off.
foxfanazer Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Can't decide which 3pm game to watch. Norwich v Villa or Watford v Spurs
