Dan Posted 31 March 2016 Posted 31 March 2016 Villa will want an instant return, doubt if they're interested in a 2 year plan. They're in dreamland. Never that straight forward. I'm quite confident they'll finish in the bottom half next season. Pearson or Moyes would better that but I think both of them will avoid it.

Pearson or Moyes would better that but I think both of them will avoid it. There's no guarantee they'll be promoted in 2,3,4 or 5 years even if they agreed to that, no matter who the manager is. There's too much money involved for not trying to get straight back up.
MC Prussian Posted 31 March 2016 Posted 31 March 2016 There's no guarantee they'll be promoted in 2,3,4 or 5 years even if they agreed to that, no matter who the manager is. There's too much money involved for not trying to get straight back up. You're being very vague. One could also say that, at some stage in the near or distant future, a demoted team from the Premier League will find its way back up again. Well, yeah. Time is irrelevant. The money factor on the spending side is irrelevant. No matter what the budget, getting promoted is based on more than just your net spend, as QPR or Portsmouth had to find out over the years, for instance. Villa could get straight back up à la Newcastle, they may do a Blackburn and stay in the league for years or even follow the example of Blackpool and end up washed up and broke on a crappy beach near Lancaster. Anything is possible.
Stadt Posted 31 March 2016 Posted 31 March 2016 Suspect he'll be after King, James, Moore, De Laet maybe even Was? I don't think we'd let James or King go, the rest would be good signings for the Championship.
GaelicFox Posted 1 April 2016 Posted 1 April 2016 Villa looking at Mick McCarthy Over Perarson .... They are a doomed club

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Forest fans actually seem keen on him - never thought I'd see the day they've got the right attitude. Still don't think he'd get on with Fawaz.
atomicfox Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I don't think Nigel will fancy villa what with the off pitch problems but ultimately it's a job and if you hang around waiting for too long the offers dry up and your yesterday's man.does anyone call Alan curbishly these days?.nope.
VLC86 Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Seriously if Pearson is going to Forest then Fawaz is on his way out, not a chance he would work with that clown surely.
LCFC FOX Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 He'll be reunited with Mills again! Seriously though he'll like that Hobbs and Fryatt are already there. Only trouble though he can't sign anyone can he?
GaelicFox Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 He'll be reunited with Mills again! Seriously though he'll like that Hobbs and Fryatt are already there. Only trouble though he can't sign anyone can he? Can't really be happy With this Hope he fails
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Bloody hell, Pearson linked with Derby, Forest and Villa! He really hates us and wants to sign for one of our rivals... only Coventry left now!
FireFox Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Bloody hell, Pearson linked with Derby, Forest and Villa! He really hates us and wants to sign for one of our rivals... only Coventry left now!Our rivals are Spurs, Atletico, Bayer and Monaco.

Fox92 Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Suspect he'll be after King, James, Moore, De Laet maybe even Was? Apart from King and maybe Moore he can have them.
Matt Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 If he goes to Forest I genuinely don't care and wish him well, whether that makes me any less of a City fan I don't give a fook (I've had the debate with people in the past and in some people's eyes that obviously does make me less of a City fan). For me it all a case of anywhere but Villa pretty much. Personally I can't see him putting up with the chaos at Villa or Forest so struggle to see him taking either job. I know Webbo's said to me in the past it's part of the job, it's a reason why a job's available, but there are better situations, more positive and better ran situations about, it's just a case of being patient, which I think NP is and the right job will come for him. It's a shame Karanka went back to Middlesborough. And puts silence to Webbo's point that "If Villa were in great shape there wouldn't be a vacancy there in the first place." Middlesborough are in great shape, it'd have been a very positive and great job to walk into. Unfortunately (For Pearson) Karanka obviously was talked round. When vacancies become available it's not always because clubs are in the mess Villa or Forest (For just 2 small examples) all situations are different.

Are Villa in great shape? Villa or possibly Newcastle are the biggest clubs Pearson could ever hope to manage. I don't know how anyone could claim he wouldn't want to be there.

I don't know how anyone could claim he wouldn't want to be there. Because his days would be numbered from the start. Who says he want's a big club anyway? He seems the type to go for an underachieving club, with half decent base and bring them up. Certainly a case of a smaller club where he can succeed as opposed to a big club that's only going one way under current ownership - I can't see him necessarily thinking "Oh, (apparently) 'Big' club I must go there".
