Dan Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Hope Villa get Mick McCarthy and he ends up at Ipswich. I could see that too. I think I could tolerate Ipswich.

Arriba Los Zorros Posted 14 April 2016 Posted 14 April 2016 Don't mind seeing him at Villa, I don't hate Villa as much as some on here and would like to see them get back up: they've been more pathetic than hateable for seasons now. Certainly beats Pearson at Derby or Forest
Leicesterpool Posted 14 April 2016 Posted 14 April 2016 On Monday the camera went on Pearson at the Forest v Brighton game. Forest are in the same mess as Villa but you'd think he'd able to attract better players at Villa rather than at Forest.
RobHawk Posted 14 April 2016 Posted 14 April 2016 Surely he's waiting to see what happens at Newcastle?

Forest are in the same mess as Villa but you'd think he'd able to attract better players at Villa rather than at Forest. He could have attracted any of the players he signed for us in the Championship at Forest, plus he'll have Hobbs and Fryatt already and can sell Mills to raise funds. Seenitall's complaining about Pearson on the Villa forum already https://www.villatalk.com/topic/14786-next-manager-season/?page=124
walkerleeds Posted 14 April 2016 Posted 14 April 2016 Bizarre how many fans of Championship clubs turn their noses up at Nigel Pearson. They seem to ignore he's been successful in every season / spell of his managerial career, strange people.

Some Leicester fans didn't want Ranieri, despite the fact he's never taken a club side backwards. People are stupid.
MrSpaM Posted 14 April 2016 Posted 14 April 2016 In the news today he's looking at getting Chrissy P as his assistant wherever he ends up It's worked in the past I guess
LCFC FOX Posted 14 April 2016 Posted 14 April 2016 Chris Powell or Kevin Phillips as number two would be my guess. Maybe even Bruno as a coach!
walkerleeds Posted 14 April 2016 Posted 14 April 2016 Some Leicester fans didn't want Ranieri, despite the fact he's never taken a club side backwards. People are stupid. To a degree you can sort of understand the scepticism when Ranieri was appointed given he hasn't managed in England for years, did he still have the fight etc. Pearson, well we all know what he is capable of giving him all the pedigree in the world to take over a team like Villa. Just seems fans don't want him cos he calls journalists ostriches now and again
Leicesterpool Posted 14 April 2016 Posted 14 April 2016 Chris Powell or Kevin Phillips as number two would be my guess. Maybe even Bruno as a coach! I think Kev will stay on at Derby, I reckon he's got a great chance in being their new manager.
Donut Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 If he goes to Forest I genuinely don't care and wish him well, whether that makes me any less of a City fan I don't give a fook (I've had the debate with people in the past and in some people's eyes that obviously does make me less of a City fan). For me it all a case of anywhere but Villa pretty much. Personally I can't see him putting up with the chaos at Villa or Forest so struggle to see him taking either job. I know Webbo's said to me in the past it's part of the job, it's a reason why a job's available, but there are better situations, more positive and better ran situations about, it's just a case of being patient, which I think NP is and the right job will come for him. It's a shame Karanka went back to Middlesborough. And puts silence to Webbo's point that "If Villa were in great shape there wouldn't be a vacancy there in the first place." Middlesborough are in great shape, it'd have been a very positive and great job to walk into. Unfortunately (For Pearson) Karanka obviously was talked round. When vacancies become available it's not always because clubs are in the mess Villa or Forest (For just 2 small examples) all situations are different. Im not sure what youre actually on about here? Its a shame Karanka went back to Middlesboro to finish off maybe winning the league? Unless hes extremely lucky hes going to go into a job where there is some degree of turmoil, and he will just have to put up with it.
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 If Middlesborough don't get promoted this season, I think Pearson will go there in the summer.
Fox92 Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 How will he do without Steve Walsh though? He kept Southampton and Carlisle up despite Walsh not being at either club.
foxy boxing Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 wherever pearson goes he's taking a bloody long time to get there
Webbo Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 wherever pearson goes he's taking a bloody long time to get there If he is going to Villa I'd guess he'd want to wait until they are officially relegated before he takes charge.
Donut Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 He kept Southampton and Carlisle up despite Walsh not being at either club. Genuinely not sure why people talk about this as a positive. George Burley resigned with the club mid table. Pearson took the job and won 3 league games in his whole spell as manager. So while they "avoided relegation", they did it by the skin of their teeth and got worse as a team under him. It wasnt that they were down and out and he performed a great escape like he did here, like i said, he won 3 games. His spell in charge was very bad.

A mess. They should have gone down and did the season after. A Leicester City forum is not the best place to talk about his time at Southampton. Ask Southampton fans how well he did; they all still regard him very highly.

Donut Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 Southampton were appalling ... he worked miracles to keep them afloat ... In winning 3 games? They were in mid table. George Burley is therefore a genuis then? Probably because how the club was off field. A mess. They should have gone down and did the season after. You know a lot of Southampton fans then?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 In winning 3 games? They were in mid table. They were 18th and not winning any games.
