Manchester United.. Next up!...

United aren't impressive so this game is winnable. It seems they are really struggling to score. They have been very good defensively but scoring wise i don't think we should be scared.

Depends on whom they have available for tomorrow's game and what team is showing up.

Anyone thinking we'd keep a clean sheet against Manchester United needs their head checked.

Of course, I'd be over the moon if it happened, but although we've shown signs of improvement on the defensive side, I'd never underestimate the potency of Rooney, Martial or Depay up front on a good day out.

I do hope we get a positive result, but we've still got to be cautious to a certain extent based on tomorrow's starting XI.

Martial is their main number one threat. On form he can score at will. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a clean sheet given their scoring problems. That said I expect there to be goals.

I'd like to think Ranieri knows Martials weakness so he can help prepare the defence.

To be honest, I'd be more wary if they played Fellaini up front with Mata playing off him. We would be vulnerable if they play accurate long balls and crosses to him and he has support. Depends how defensive they want to play.

Dead excited about the game tomorrow it will be a real test to know if we are as strong as we think we are. Can't imagine we will allowing them much time on the ball and we will play a high pressure game.

Whether or not we can break them down remains to be seen. Kante and Drinkwater will be key. I honestly think we can do it given the form we are in, going to go for 2-0 city.

Brother is a United fan. Please don't let them win. After the ribbing I gave him following the 5-3 he will be out for my blood if they win.

As others have said there's a case for all 3 of Mahrez, Okazaki and Ulloa to partner Vardy. For me the first priority has to be to play to Mahrez' strengths and I fear that having him in the same area of the pitch as Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin is going to be a problem. I'd much rather have him running at Rojo or Young and risk exposing Simpson - United don't exactly counter with much pace anyway so plenty of time for Mahrez to get back and support anyway if needs be.

Okazaki would be my pick to partner Vardy because a part of the pitch van Gaal has prioritised, and is essential to the way his team's play, is the deep lying midfielder - last season it was Blind/Carrick and this season it's Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin. A huge part of our success last year in this fixture came from Nugent giving Blind an absolute hounding all game, particularly in the latter stages, totally stifling his ability to run the game from there. Okazaki can do an even better defensive role for the team than Nugent in there.

Good post

For me though Ulloa held the ball up superbly last week and just seems a really intelligent player. I always feel more comfortable defending ser pieces with him in the side too.

Okazaki seems to play better coming off the bench imo and could prove to be a great choice against an already tired United side.

It's going to be a tough choice for CR whoever he picks for this one. Agree about playing Mahrez out wide though, Not been impressed with him centrally overall

I concur.

Okazaki's confidence should also be sky-high after his wonder goal at Newcastle.

I think Utd will frustrate us in the first half, maybe even nicking a goal, but our fitness will tell in the second and our pace will blow them away.

3-1, Vardy with a brace.

I'll be watching this at 4.30am from the casino here in Sydney. It'll no doubt be full of your standard, plastic United fans but I'm hoping there's a few Foxes fans there that I can sup a few beers with!

Anyways, onto the game. United are struggling to score and we're looking really, really good...

So, for me this has a United win written all over it. It'd just be so typical of them to turn it on and hit their straps. I think we'll score, but I'll very reluctantly go for a 3-1 loss*

*Yes, I'm a massive pessimist!

Do people genuinely not think Lingaard looks a good prospect now? We've had plenty on loan that have looked pretty shocking. Kane was utterly woeful in a blue shirt.

Lingaard could easily become a very good player.

Just an interesting comparison at what level young players break into the first team. When I was a kid it was Sharpe and Giggs, then Beckham, Scholes, Neville etc. Recently Welbeck is about as good as it's got. Lingard is the new Chris Eagles.

Good post. Why do you fear Chelsea/Arsenal/City though? Chelsea have been horrendous. Arsenal are nothing to scream at and City with Pellegrini aren't frightening either.

Man U look more beatable than Spurs, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Everton right now. And I'd rather play you than Chelsea, because in form or not, they have much more quality than United and who knows when they'll turn it on? We genuinely can go toe to toe with everybody except your keeper, and maybe Smalling, but you've got no one to touch Kante, Mahrez or Vardy.

It could go either way at the weekend, as it could with anyone outside the bottom 3. But we're favourites, and rightly so.

Rio advises himself on how to stop Vardy scoring :P

Rio Ferdinand advises Man Utd pair how to stop Jamie Vardy Rio Ferdinand tells Man Utd duo Daley Blind and Rio Ferdinand how to stop Leicester striker Jamie Vardy

Rio Ferdinand has told Manchester United centre-halves Daley Blind and Rio Ferdinand how to stop in-form Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

The newly-capped England international can beat Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in 10 successive Premier Leaguegames if Vardy nets against the Red Devils in Saturday’s late kick-off.

Vardy Ulloa

Can't see why people wouldn't play Ulloa after last week. Looked sharp, got an assist and a goal and provided the perfect foil for Vardy. I'd also argue Smalling is one of the main reasons that United's defence has been so solid. It would be natural for him to have to turn to mark Ulloa should he start due to equal height and size etc so that would leave Vardy out of a more physical battle so that he can play to his strengths and hopefully scorch the other CB for pace in the channels as per. Mahrez outwide is a must as well. More of the same from Kante and Drinkwater would be superb as well please!
