Corky Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 Losing to Barcelona is one thing, losing to Gijon and Betis another entirely.
purpleronnie Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 what a picture Seems they have the same disfigurement,, that's sad.
ScouseFox Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 poor guy, feel a bit sorry for him. they're clearly not very good hence why they sacked their previous manager but he's clearly not cut out for this. he'd have been much better going to oldham or something and taking them from mid table league one to mid table league one in front of about 5000 fans who dont really give a shit.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 poor guy, feel a bit sorry for him. they're clearly not very good hence why they sacked their previous manager but he's clearly not cut out for this. he'd have been much better going to oldham or something and taking them from mid table league one to mid table league one in front of about 5000 fans who dont really give a shit. He may not have had a chance from the start... He's an odd choice by a Chairman he's pally with and his brother is the assistant - that would have made it a difficult dressing room to win over because players would be suspect of these things. It also seemed as though he went in there with a raft of ideas / changes, which has probably got players backs up,as well - I can imagine a lot of them asking who the hell this Mancuian upstart thinks he is? Finally, it's one thing to identify mistakes on a to screen - it's a completely different thing trying to coach players out of making those mistakes. As a learning curve, I can only imagine this will be great for him, but it seems he's beyond the point of return in this particular job, I can't see how he would maintain enough respect / belief from the players to be able to turn this around.
foxes161 Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 There's no excuse for them to be struggling. Spend a lot of money and top 4 is their expections.
Samilktray Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 Probably killed any future career in management
Nalis Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 Not really sure why everyone is so happy to see an English manager fail abroad.
AyewJoking Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 Probably killed any future career in management nah he can just add: 'oversea's managerial experience' to his resume.
Soar Fox Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 Not really sure why everyone is so happy to see an English manager fail abroad. Probably the same people that are taking joy in Kramaric failing to score in Germany.
ozleicester Posted 8 February 2016 Posted 8 February 2016 Stupid decision to offer it to him Stupid decision to accept it. Stupid
Corky Posted 8 February 2016 Posted 8 February 2016 Not really sure why everyone is so happy to see an English manager fail abroad. I don't get this argument. I'm not happy to see him fail but just because he's English it doesn't mean he'll get universal backing. Man City, Liverpool and Leeds fans won't be wishing him well and, although he's gained a lot of respect as a pundit, as a player he wasn't popular around the country and that is probably coming to the fore again now.
Fox92 Posted 8 February 2016 Posted 8 February 2016 Should have started lower. Like Hasselbaink, for example. Jumping straight into a big club like Valencia was always going to be tough.
Asha Posted 8 February 2016 Posted 8 February 2016 at everyone saying you should turn down a fantastic opportunity for a shit one somewhere. So if you got offered a £100,000 a year job at an exciting and innovative company doing interesting work, you'd turn it down because you haven't learnt your trade yet and you want to work at £6.50 an hour for another year? Or if Kate Upton approached you looking for a long-term sex partner you'd say "nah mate, i need to do my time with the gremlin next door" What a ****ing stupid mentality. The opportunity was there. He went for it. Good on the guy. So it hasn't worked out perfectly, that doesn't mean he should have spent nine years at Accrington Stanley just to have a second round JPT win on his CV.
Asha Posted 8 February 2016 Posted 8 February 2016 And people saying his career is finished already Shall we have another look at the bag of wank that Claudio was for the last few years before he came here?
Samilktray Posted 8 February 2016 Posted 8 February 2016 Claudio had achieved a decent amount of success in management before he had a few crap years, Gary Neville has had no managerial success. So that's a silly comparison to make.

Corky Posted 8 February 2016 Posted 8 February 2016 And people saying his career is finished already Shall we have another look at the bag of wank that Claudio was for the last few years before he came here? He won promotion and finished second in France within the last 4 years.

Its not really a stupi mentality is it? it won't be long untill your back on that £6.50 an hour job, if you get chucked in as the manager of a large and successful company and you don't know what your doing its not going to last very long anyway?
Kitchandro Posted 8 February 2016 Posted 8 February 2016 And people saying his career is finished already Shall we have another look at the bag of wank that Claudio was for the last few years before he came here? Claudio would never have got the job if it wasn't for his success at one time. Neville has nothing to point to as managerial success. It's not necessarily over but it's not done him any favours at all.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 February 2016 Posted 8 February 2016 yeah im 99% sure g nev was on minimum wage at sky and he's probably got no savings or any money or anything from his 20+ years as a multimillionaire Exactly this!

It's not necessarily over but it's not done him any favours at all. As I said earlier, I wish him all the best. He seems a good guy. Over this however, I think he's been a berk! He don't need the money and he's taken on a poison chalice when he really didn't need to. And don't be fooled by this 'learning from the experience' thing. If he fooks this job up (and so far he's doing so good and proper) it will do him no favours. I heard earlier that AVB has been linked with the job. No idea if this is true.
dylanlegend Posted 8 February 2016 Posted 8 February 2016 Everyone was saying he's a great appointment he'll be a good manager as he's a good pundit. I was saying all along? When has a pundit ever made a good manager? And it's his first manager job.... In a different country.... It was never going to work out! And to think he is the current favourite for the next England manager...
