Too many people looking at the groups and putting a holiday over the best interests of the club. I want the weakest teams in the draw 

 

Ideal draw:

 

Leicester

Porto

Olympiakos

APOEL Nicosia

Pot 1:

Barca, Leicester, Real Madrid, Juventus, Paris St Germain, Benfica, CSKA Moscow, Bayern Munich

Pot 2:

Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Manchester City, FC Porto, Napoli, Sevilla, Bayer Leverkusen

Pot3:

FC Basel, Shakhtar Donetsk, Tottenham, Olympiakos, Dynamo Kiev, Lyon, Villarreal, Ajax

Pot 4:

PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon, Club Brugge, Red Bull Salzburg, Besiktas, Viktoria Plzen, APOEL Nicosia, Celtic

They're not the actual pots though are they apart from Pot One?

 

Because there's still a Play-off round to play so Man City aren't actually in the group stages yet.

 

Also Liverpool can still make it etc

 

We won't know the exact pots until a few days before the draw,

 

Still good to speculate though I supoose

Correct and Real Madrid haven't won the Champions League yet, so they could be swapped for Atletico depending on how that one goes

I'd say so, the other pots are worked out on how well the teams have done in the Champions League and Europa League in the past.

this is never going to happen again. as fans we obviously want to make the most of it. 3 sensational trips and 6 great games would be much better than 3 rubbish trips, a couple of 1-0 wins and 0-0 draws then getting knocked out in the next round anyway. 

 

i'd be delighted if we finished third in a group tbh and went into the europa league. i genuinely think we could get quite a few rounds in that.

lol this is the champions league, what did you expect pot 2 to look like? havant and waterlooville and charlton and sporting gijon?

I'm not interested in making the numbers up and having a good time losing.

 

We're lucky to have three superstars in our team at the same time and the other eight all being good to very good players. It might be the one chance we have of becoming a top seven club. I want us to finish top 4 in the league and get to the knockout rounds of the CL.

 

Despite winning the PL we're still looked at as the plucky underdog, the only way that changes is through sustained success and we'll never have a better platform than we do now. We're already competing with sides like Borussia Dortmund. Atletico Madrid, Juventus, etc on a financial basis as we're willing to match transfer fees and wages similar to these clubs.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before. 

 

But do the club put on Fox travel planes for these games? Not sure what's the norm for other English teams.

Guess it depends on who we're playing and what the demand is. Can't imagine we'd sell many for Dynamo Kiev or FC Rostov.

Same here. I want the easiest draw and us to get as far as we can. I want and think we can get top 4 again as well. I lumped on the 9/4 on us getting to the last 16 of the Champions League. A quite ridiculous price which has now been cut.

Looking at the CL draw last season in Pot 4 only the two German clubs are at our level so if we avoided them it should be any two from three most likely. 9/4 is a crazy price considering we've form for pedigree playing the "big six" in England. Last season we W4 D5 L3. Three of our four sides still made it out the group and we have Pot 1. I love your bet.  :)

It was a crazy price from Paddy Power. They are 11/8 now which is still on the generous side. I too think we should be evens at best.

Last year I looked back and Arsenal who were in Bayern's group were around 1/5 to qualify. Man Utd were 2/9. Obviously they knew their group at that stage, but even with a group of death I don't think we would be any bigger than 9/4.

Still can't believe we are in the F**king Champions League!!!

 

Still can't believe we have to wait until the 25th of August to find out whom we're going to face in the group stages!  :angry:
