Do you take your missus (partner, whatever) to the football?

The questions in the title. I've took my missus twice, once when we were going out and once on a New Year's Eve when we were going to Skegness for a party straight afterwards. Both times she did nothing but moan, never again.

Anyone in a relationship with a football fan, or do they bend your ear as well?

I did with an ex. She was a Leicester fan so it helped lol.

Would happily take my current girlfriend as she likes football too.

In 1995, when I started going out with my now missus, I was living in Salford and she was in Hinckley and we'd alternate weekends between the two.

Early on, knowing that I liked football, she suggested that we could go to a match. Naturally, I took her to Rochdale v. Carlisle.

It was an excellent match - 2-2 draw - but at half-time she politely asked if we could go home now. I suggested we stay to the end and she acquiesced.

She's never been to a match with me since, has never suggested it again - and thankfully makes no pretence of having any interest in football.  :D

Years ago now I had a girlfriend from Denmark. Paid her the ultimate compliment of asking her if she wanted to come to

The City with me. She asked if she could bring a book. She didn't bring a book and she never got another invite...

Took her to her first game not too long ago. She was proper excited. Went to the Tottenham home FA cup game. Dead atmosphere, played shit and lost 2-0. Probably not the best game to bring her to lol

If I go she usually goes too. She enjoys it, understands the rules, but for some reason can't get her head around the league system and how each match is affected by other matches, etc.

I took the wife once during the Craig Levein spell and she said that's 90minutes of my life I'll never get back.

That was fine by me as I liked the beer and bloke time without earache.

She detests sport in general but asked me last week if I could get an extra ticket and pop along to see what all the fuss is about!

West ham will be my 3rd game this year ffs, and I've sold my soul for those three.

Took mine few times- she loved the experience but I do think the novelty will wear off if she went regularly.  I had to nurse my bruised ego the day after Carlisle match (2-2 draw I think) when she barged me over over a game of kickabout with my baby brother when I was not expecting it and claimed she thought it was allowed despite the fact that the said incident was called as a foul!

Took my wife to the football once when we were courting back in the early 90's at home. We stood in Pen 3 and she didn't watch any of game, but she was fascinated by all the chanting and abuse both sets of fans were giving each other. I think it finally dawned on her how passionate and tribal football is, even if she thinks we're all bloody bonkers.

Take the wife a fair few times.

Took her to derby at home on Valentine's Day back in the Levein/Kelly days (not sure who?) and punched her in the face when Maybury equalised. Good times

No, I tried when we 1st met, but she didn't really get it, and felt like i had to pay her attention and watch what I said in front of her.

That said, she never saw us lose at Filbert St, then I took her to the spurs cup final we lost that, I don't think I have taken her since!!!

"Distinguishing features: Nun"

It's okay to occasionally  fancy a Nun, but don't get into the habit.
