Ahmed Musa

This isn't a criticism so don't anyone take it there....

From my limited knowledge, Nigeria is ( mostly) split between Christians and Muslims

Can we assume, and please tell me wrong by the name Ahmed that he is a Muslim.

I just wondered if there are any Muslims out there who can can comment on how the daytime fasting of Ramadam effects them personally?

I'm just curious as to how it could effect a professional footballer at the top of the prem/ champions league.

Musa says fasting gives him more power http://africanfootball.com/news/435744/Ahmed-Musa-Fasting-will-give-me-more-power

Not sure but is Kante Muslim ??

Yes mate

This but would like to see us sign a more attacking right back for when teams put 10 men behind the ball, which I think we will get a lot next year.

I dont think we will need an attacking right back, even in the situation you described. Fuchs/Brady would give us great attacking options at LB, Claudio wont want to to leave us open with two attacking full backs, even with Mendy infront of the defence. With a defensive right back, we'd have at least 3 defenders protecting us from a counter (rb & the two cb's) + Mendy, allowing a LB like Brady more freedom to attack.

Schmeichel

Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs

Mendy

Drinkwater Kante

Mahrez Vardy Musa

Subs: Zieler, Hernandez, Schlupp, Amartay, Gray, Okazaki/Albrighton, Ulloa.

Now that's a team capable of winning the Champions League

Athletes usually get away with the strict Ramadan rules as decided by their community (Imam), some follow it by the book on their own terms, but most accept the fact that their body needs water and some light nutrition to get going and so they are somewhat exempt.

I bet there's even a passage in the Quran that mentions these exceptions.

Personally, it doesn't affect me at all nor has it affected anyone I know. The main thing is eating the right types of food between 9:30pm and 1:30am, so you are in the best physical and mental state possible during the 20 hour fast.

This is made even easier for footballers as their diets/nutrition is handled by the club staff, they'll do anything for the players to be in prime condition. Also, a lot of the players' training regimes are tailored to their own needs/situations so they are lucky with that too.

I'm not sure how many of the players fast, but if you have any good reason to miss one or several, then you can make up for them by fasting on days outside Ramadan or donating a small amount in charity for every fast missed (around £2) so there is some leniency for those players.

Not sure how things work at Leicester, but I know Liverpool go out of their way to accommodate their Muslim players, and have done in the past also.

16 mill i am seeing now, changes my attitude about him a little but regardless I hope I am wrong about him being a potential flop.

Considering that only a few seasons ago, we were being linked with Maynard, Mackil-Smith, Ishmail Miller etc - to on the verge of signing a player in big demand in Europe, what a time to be alive.

I haven't read previous pages but what's the fee? Wasn't it £23m in January allegedly but I'm seeing £16m being quoted now.

£16.6m, bargain compared to what was being floated around previously!

CSKA weren't playing hardball in January, they just didn't want to sell him during their title campaign.

In any case, it's irrelevant for the next couple of years as it doesn't start until end of May in 2017 and mid-May in 2018. This year was early June until tomorrow. While I guess the club would make the best of it, I'm sure it would have some effect on an athlete given the change on the body and particularly the lack of water during the day (probably more so than the food). You will know better as someone who fasts, Riz, but not sure whether it's the same unless you have a very active job. Anyway, Eid Mubarak to you.

Any signing is a potential flop, our fantastic scouting set up headed by Walsh seems to lessen that risk.

I find it best to watch them play for us before forming an opinion.

Looking forward to seeing him get on the end of some of mendys long diagonal balls!

How did he even pass the medical?

i have watched him play enough for Nigeria and Moscow to have a decent understanding of his game and what he is capable of here.

I'm a little surprised to see people questioning this potential appointment. The bloke looks pretty decent to me. Extremely quick, a fair bit of technical ability to boot. Not everything I've seen him attempt has managed to be pulled off on those YouTube videos, but he's getting in the right positions and his work rate looks excellent. Looks to favour cutting in from the left side so looks to be competing against Albrighton and Gray in a 4-4-1-1. If we go 4-3-3, I'm sure he'll do well wide left.

Can actually see us playing 4231...

Mendy. Drinky

Grey. Mahrez. Musa .

Vardy

Think kante will leave.. I think grey, mahrez and musa will change across that line at times... Could be exciting

Low centre of gravity, eh? Marvellous scouting as usual, attention to detail and all that...

He can pass anything with ease.. 92% pass success.. even with weirdly shaped balls
