Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 4 July 2016 Posted 4 July 2016 Is it Ack-Med Musa or Ah-Med Musa ?!?! I've only heard his name read as Ah-med so far but I've been referring to him as Ack-med. Don't know if it's correct but it sounds cooler

Chelve84 Posted 4 July 2016 Posted 4 July 2016 Has anyone seen the size of mendys legs there like tree trunks
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 4 July 2016 Posted 4 July 2016 Can actually see us playing 4231... Mendy. Drinky Grey. Mahrez. Musa . Vardy Think kante will leave.. I think grey, mahrez and musa will change across that line at times... Could be exciting Or we sign Yarmalenko & play him on the right... Imagine that.
Out Foxed Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 I've only heard his name read as Ah-med so far but I've been referring to him as Ack-med. Don't know if it's correct but it sounds cooler Cheers, you racist.
RizLCFC Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 In any case, it's irrelevant for the next couple of years as it doesn't start until end of May in 2017 and mid-May in 2018. This year was early June until tomorrow. While I guess the club would make the best of it, I'm sure it would have some effect on an athlete given the change on the body and particularly the lack of water during the day (probably more so than the food). You will know better as someone who fasts, Riz, but not sure whether it's the same unless you have a very active job. Anyway, Eid Mubarak to you. Thanks pal appreciate that! Also, you're right, I do train during fasts, go for runs etc, I feel fine, but obviously that's nothing compared to proper athletes. And yes, lack of water is the hardest bit!
Merging Cultures Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 This isn't a criticism so don't anyone take it there.... From my limited knowledge, Nigeria is ( mostly) split between Christians and Muslims Can we assume, and please tell me wrong by the name Ahmed that he is a Muslim. I just wondered if there are any Muslims out there who can can comment on how the daytime fasting of Ramadam effects them personally? I'm just curious as to how it could effect a professional footballer at the top of the prem/ champions league. There are exemptions from fasting, I believe players can opt out of fasting, or do a modified fast, because it could affect their livelihood and make them ill.
Sampson Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Exciting prospect...especially at 23 years old! Plenty of time to adapt and improve.I'm always cynical about his age though.Nigerians don't need birth certificates and many are told they are younger than they actually are. Past Nigerian managers have even admitted this. It's why they've won loads at U21 and U23 level over the years. Added to that many of their players are first team regulars at 16 and their careers are over at 30. Musa has been a first team regular since 16 and already has 54 caps for his country by 23 is all I'm saying.
mozartfox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 I work for company in Malaysia which is predominantly Muslim. The fasting month is really difficult and I cannot imagine how this would affect an Athlete given the long day-light hours wig have in the UK at this time of the year. I am sure he can handle this if indeed his beliefs are that of a devoted Muslim
Jakemoore Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 I work in Stratford, East London. Most of my staff are Muslim. One of the girls passed out from exhaustion on Saturday due to fasting and the heat. I have no doubt that Ramadan will affect Riyad and Musa but they must have learnt how to deal with it by now. And besides, we can't ask them to eat anyway so just have to accept that they might be slightly below bar during Ramadan.
Babylon Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Trust doesn't seem an appropriate descriptor. Claudio preferred a system which evolved as a direct result of a strong camaraderie and the dovetailing of three special talents, the development of a strong defensive unit and other determined and skilled players who were able to adapt readily to the system. I consider that he is a skilled and imaginative footballer who just hasn't adapted as swiftly as expected or hoped for - however that could still change. I think it's a very good "descriptor", he's meant to be a DM not some silky skilled player. Defending a lead we wouldn't even bring him on, preferring Andy King instead. It tells you Ranieri didn't have faith in his ability to do the job he was asking. As to money I think you're still too fixed in times past - when salaries were pared to accommodate liquidity. I think City might now have some leeway in terms of available funding. Times have changed at Leicester and we should acknowledge that and change our thinking to reflect this renaissance of the club we follow. Honestly, no idea what you're talking about with what money we have. I've not mentioned anything about that, more what other clubs are prepared to offer. If we don't want a player, and another team knows that, it puts them in a good bargaining position to get the best deal for them. As I stated it may be that Inler could be useful. However you appear to believe otherwise - so I think further discussion would be rather futile. However, thank you for your thoughts - always good for discussion. I've not discussed my thoughts on him, just an observation that we preferred almost anyone but him. Unless there is a sudden turn around from him pre season I don't see that changing... especially as he's already fallen further down last seasons pecking order with the arrival of Mendy.
Simmsy Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Why are people getting so worried about him fasting when 2 of our 'big 3' are also Muslim and will have been fasting at the same times? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Bayfox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Cheers, interesting little read, nice to see he has a good attitude to learning. And didn't sulk when not sold in jan.
frany104 Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Think this will prove to be a really good bit of business. Looking forward to him running the channels! PACE PACE PACE
Nick Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 He sounds like a super sub for tinker men.... Right wing, left wing or striker of number 10..... Just insert opposite tired defender at 60 minutes and watch the goals roll in.
Countryfox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 You've got to emphasise the phleghmy ack- sound. Then throw in a few durka durkas to be safe Glad we've got that one sorted .. A-Men to that ! Or is Armen ??? or Ah-Men ???
Kasey Keller Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 He sounds like a super sub for tinker men.... Right wing, left wing or striker of number 10..... Just insert opposite tired defender at 60 minutes and watch the goals roll in. Haha love it

Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk No need to be a drama queen- no one is ' so worried' about it just wondering how it may or may not affect him. This is a discussion board after all!
Gerard Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 I'm not super keen on Musa but he's a natural replacement for Vardy if he's rested or injured without changing our style. He obviously has some brilliant natural attributes that you can't really train in stamina, work rate and pace. At 23 hopefully we can turn him into a better all round footballer and couple this with his natural abilities and he could be an absolute beast for us. Just look how Vardy improved from first coming here.
Babylon Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 I saw people mentioning him missing quite a few chances, but the stats on Sky had his conversion rate almost as good as Vards and better than Okazaki (by a mile) and better than Leos.
