johnny the fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 iv'e been around a long time.. apart from enriching himself I feel in my gut this move will not work out for the lad...but if its so, we move on ...as always.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 His exit will lead to others going I feel, but I'm sure we are in a strong position to find good players who want to play for us. We have won the league fulfilled the dream, now let's make sure we can stay around
KFS Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Also, whilst I completely disagree with any abuse his missus is getting on Twitter (and the subsequent rimming from the begs looking for a retweet) if she is that offended is it too difficult to deactivate her account for a few days while everything boils over? That's the sensible thing to do. This is the same lady who sold the story of Peter Andre's cock to the media. These people love it.
apple987 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 With the fee apparently being £18.5 million. How much do Fleetwood get? There is definitely a clause according to there chairman. Also there's a few reasons Vardy will want the move. Everyone knows where his house is, it really isn't ideal. If I was that rich and famous, I wouldn't want people outside my house all the time. It's the last opportunity in his career for a big move - if he has a poor season next season then it's pretty much all over for him as he's 30. He's more likely to get England games as centre forward. London lifestyle. No more Weirdo Lee Chappy. Imagine him and Jack Wilshere together probably already have a bond from England. Massive signing on fee. Chance of more silverware. Getting to work under Arsene Wenger before he retires. His next book will have a lot more chapters. Agent pressure.
stevelcfc Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Arsenal first game of the season at home, you wait. I won't boo or jeer him, but I certainly wouldn't applaud him either. And when he inevitably gets his first and only goal of the season against us I bet he'd happily celebrate in front of us. Anyway, it seems to be done, get Musa and a couple of others in and he'll be all but forgotten.
Larry_LCFC Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 You actually believed that utter crap about "band of brothers"?We wouldn't have won jack shit if it wasn't for the incredible team spirit and togetherness. It certainly wasn't just down to our skill.
MC Prussian Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Players leave and players come - it's only natural. The big question to be asked here is whether we have a suitable replacement lined up in the case of this scenario becoming reality. No player is bigger than the club and Ranieri openly admitted that he won't hold players back if they wanted to seek their fortune elsewhere. If he leaves, I won't begrudge Vardy for his choice, although I'm sure a part of me would be somewhat gutted to see him go after all he's given to the club. Still, onwards and upwards...
chapero82 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 They had the chance to say what's going on instead she says this
HankMarvin Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I think the worst part is how soon after the season it is happening. The trophy cabinet door as barely been shut and we gave players leaving. Any comments made towards the vardys on Twitter are embarrassing. If he has been looking at this forum over the last week he would see some awful comments regarding his wife. Overrated anyway..... Ah well sure she will cope, after all she got pregnant after a week of being with Vardy and leaving her son with her ex. I'm sure she's quite thick skinned
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Just heard on Gem 106 this seems done, all the big boys reporting it now.
TJB-fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 With the release clause in effect, it's Vardy's choice whether he wants to leave or stay, so I don't see why you have an indirect go at fans who seemingly have less "ambition" than you exude. We as fans don't have a say in the transfer, we can but comment on it. So you're whole attack on Leicester fans is irrelevant. Vardy's 29 going on 30 and will be looking at securing a top income before the end of his playing career, which could come sooner than later - but it'll come. I think you've taken my post the wrong way, or maybe I didn't word it quite as articulately as I should have. Yes I'm annoyed at the thought of our top scorer and best striker in years leaving for a club I hate and who we've just competed with for the last year, in fact I'm ****ing fuming. I just hope Walsh and co can resurrect our squad after this summer. Sorry to offend anyone on here but I'm desperate for my club not to become a Sunderland etc, happy to just scrape survival and maybe get to Wembley once a decade. I'm probably more annoyed at Vardy because he just led the fans on implying he was going to stay and things have changed so quickly.
DB11 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Capital radio and random Twitter accounts... Can people stick to reputable sources!! Like this?
Jace Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 The good thing is he's clearly not going to let this drag out they want it done quickly before they fly out for the Euros, thanks for everything you've done for us Jamie single most influential player we've ever had in my time IMO
Buzzell Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Without me scrolling through pages could someone update me on this? Is he actually going to move to Arsenal?
Samilktray Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Vardys missus does come across as an absolute melt though tbf
Fox92 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Arsenal first game of the season at home, you wait. I'll applaud him as loud as possible. Hero. He deserves it. And I bet he wouldn't celebrate either, just because he leaves doesn't mean he forgets what we did for him.
Wymsey Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Stupid boy. He won't have a better career end than this and possibl next season with LCFC. If he just wants to play for a side battling for 2nd or 3rd with Spurs, then that's fine - his downfall.

foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 We need to collect the money for these players, and use the time and our heightened status to sign serious talent and beat Arsenal to the top yet again
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Without me scrolling through pages could someone update me on this? Is he actually going to move to Arsenal? PlanetRock have just said Arsenal are pushing the deal through
HankMarvin Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 The good thing is he's clearly not going to let this drag out they want it done quickly before they fly out for the Euros, thanks for everything you've done for us Jamie single most influential player we've ever had in my time IMO I think that's more down to the terms woy has imposed
Ricey Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Just don't understand this. He's throwing away a team built around him that suits him perfectly, a squad he's called brothers, fans that love him, guaranteed first-team football and Champions League football next season. For what? Money and the 'prestige' of playing for a bigger club. It's a huge gamble. I couldn't think of a club with a style of play that suits him less. It'll be like the England - Portugal for him every week.
HankMarvin Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 On the plus side at least everyone will stop being Leicester on Fifa next year
Guest ttfn Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Two thoughts were either the clause was already in his previous contract (had the balls to put an England one in coming from non league)... Or that Rudkin thinks he's playing championship manager and doesn't really have a clue what he's doing. Not sure that's how it works - any contract he signs supersedes the old one. The only thing I can think of is that there was a (much lower) release clause in his old contract and the new contract allowed us to bump it up. Gerard's spot on with his post - we had all the cards before - apparently no release clause and 2.5 years on his contract and we've given it away for what? Probably chucked £10 million out the window for some positive PR in January. Absolutely shoddy management - people saying £20 million is a fair price need to wake up to the fact that it's not 1995 any more. With the new TV deal transfers involving English clubs (especially those between English clubs) are going to involve enormous transfer fees for relatively unproven talent. I've no doubt that somebody would have paid £30 million for Vardy if the clause wasn't there and in any event surely he's a player we want to keep? We've built our team around him. Putting us in a position where we have to sell is madness. Can't blame Vardy for wanting to go at all - obviously it would be better if he didn't say "how could I leave?" but football is fickle and if I had a chance to double my earnings I would.
