Vardy

Dortmund get their best players nicked by Munich every year, they are still one of the best clubs in Europe and one of the biggest in the World. It's how we replace players who move on because quite frankly, they've got to leave one day.

I appreciate that I just hope we can operate in the same way Dormund do. But it will be so much harder because they're part of the top 2 big clubs in Germany, we're not anywhere near as big in England. I understand why people don't agree with me but we've got CL football, got superb owners, growing fan base, extra money coming in, a great little squad and some cult heroes I just don't want us to lose all that and start competing with West Brom to see who can finish 12th- were destined for more than that!

I'd find it hard to hate him for what he has achieved with us, but I'm just disappointed that our so called "great togetherness like brothers" is imploding so easily when a bit of extra cash is flashed. More to football than just money. No way arsenal would set up to fit Vardy like we do.

I understand what you guys are saying like oh he's a legend he can leave with our blessing etc etc, but we'll never become one of the big boys with this attitude. It's almost like you guys are just grateful for this season and happy to slip back into obscurity. **** that I don't want to become a Southampton or whatever I want to build on what we've got and become one of the big boys. This plucky little Leicester attitude won't keep us at the top

Alright - so swearing, acting petulantly and wishing ill of one of our greatest ever forwards who's moving on is the attitude we want, right? No more plucky little Leicester then. Sometimes you've just got to accept when somethings done and move on, it's not being defeatist it's just not being a prat. Calm down.

No hard feelings towards Jaime if he goes - he gave his all every game for us last season and has been offered vast amounts more money at a prestige club.

He's 29, he relies on his pace - the premier league will very soon work out how to play against him.

If he wants to go, I for one would cash in - ideally for considerably more than 20 mil tho. Arsenal can afford more.

From an arsenal point of view - move smacks a bit of desperation.

Could be a bit of a risk too...Factoring in his age, his newfound fame, a move to the distractions of London, an attention seeking wife, being surrounded by complacent teammates, he might not be the same player for very long.

Of course I'd like him to stay, but if he chooses to go He goes with my thanks and best wishes.

Hope England figure out where to play him too

Obviously gutted if/when it happens, but already genuinely excited at the prospect of a whole new frontline coming in.

Yes it was possible Vards could have had another season like last but unlikely imo.

I'll have no ill feeling toward him but neither would I cheer him upon his return, that's just how I am when players come and go.

Me too. If we get Milik and/or Slimani I'd over the moon. Looking forward to watching our new front line next season.

well

His wife's tweet is suggesting something is really happening

If she thinks her current abuse is bad, wait until she interacts with the wonderful toxic Arsenal fan base.

I think the worst part is how soon after the season it is happening. The trophy cabinet door as barely been shut and we gave players leaving.

Any comments made towards the vardys on Twitter are embarrassing. If he has been looking at this forum over the last week he would see some awful comments regarding his wife.

Overrated anyway.....

We've got a great scouting system, I don't need to tell you who we've found. If a player leaves, we find another. Southampton have done it for the last two years. Lallana went, Mane came in - who's the better player? Because I'd say the latter.

But do not be disrespectful to any player of the current squad. We've just won the top flight so be respectful and be pleased and be proud.

Haha I knew I'd get responses like this- not unduly fussed. I want my club to become one of the top stalwarts in English football, not sink back to mid table nothingness. Selling Vardy and putting that release clause in won't help us achieve it, it's regression. I don't want my club to be seen as a stepping stone. Vardy leaving will signal to all our current players and future players 'oh I'll just wait it out for a bigger club'. I don't know why some fans are so content with us selling Vardy. He's got undoubted quality so it's unlikely he'd still be in the lower leagues but who knows without us and Walsh he might be struggling in league 2/1, yes there's not much loyalty in football these days but sorry for believing that Leicester city had something special going on here other than financial gain.

With the release clause in effect, it's Vardy's choice whether he wants to leave or stay, so I don't see why you have an indirect go at fans who seemingly have less "ambition" than you exude. We as fans don't have a say in the transfer, we can but comment on it. So you're whole attack on Leicester fans is irrelevant.

Vardy's 29 going on 30 and will be looking at securing a top income before the end of his playing career, which could come sooner than later - but it'll come.

What more does he owe us? We're Leicester City and we've just won the Premier League... I'd say that's repaid!! I'd love him to stay but if he moves then I'll thank him for what we've achieved

he could of quite easily be back working in a factory if it wasn't for the club and owners, the whole racism thing, turning up for training drunk and the club stood by him when most others would have gotten rid. Not to mention when he nearly gave up football and the club persuaded him to carry on, if it wasn't for the club he wouldn't be anywhere near the England team. That being said in not saying he doesn't deserve thanks just that I will lose a little respect

Disappointed if he goes, bad for football, a team like ours can't even win the league and get champions league football without being stripped of its talent. However like Southampton with good scouting and management there is no reason we can find solutions.

Anyway if he signs before the euros I'm sure Hodgson will totally change his opinion on him and play him where he belongs lol

Capital radio said He is due to have a medical tomorrow !

Deal will be done before he flies outs with England

This is DONE !!!!!

When capital FM says a transfer is done, you can take it as gospel.

CLOSE THREAD.

disappointed that Vardy is seemingly gone, i have a feeling he may well regret it once all  certain Arsenal players are back fit, as I cant see him being in the starting line up

And if it wasn't for him we wouldn't be Champions of England. It's all relative. So show more respect.

Fairly sure the Mirror has published numerous articles on clubs being interested in Vardy

But nothing on him being offered about, that's quite a big story do you not think. I don't believe any of those suddenly proclaiming to have loads of info. Could have made the story their own.

I get that but on the flip side we have plenty of time to look for replacements and allows them the chance to settle in before the season. I'd rather it happened now than a couple of days before we kick off in the league.

I think the worst thing about his exit is that it will signal the end for Mahrez and Kante too.

I honestly now think Mahrez will follow him to arsenal.

Posted

Not been this gutted about a player leaving since Emile for Liverpool.

The worst thing about it is the domino effect it will have - opens the door for Mahrez and Kante to leave should a similar club come in.

Obviously don't begrudge him the move but can't help but feel very pissed off.

You actually believed that utter crap about "band of brothers"?

Depends who the source is. Stuart James being Midland correspondent has probably heard it from this end. Cross rings up his source for Arsenal stuff and gets told it's happening. It was probably a question he's never asked his Arsenal source anyway.

There's been some good interviews by journalists about their sources. They generally don't ask 'you got any info on your club?' It's more targeted as the club source isn't going to revealed numerous targets without good reason. Generally players leaving clubs on transfers always broken at the leaving clubs end.

Also, whilst I completely disagree with any abuse his missus is getting on Twitter (and the subsequent rimming from the begs looking for a retweet) if she is that offended is it too difficult to deactivate her account for a few days while everything boils over?
