As much as people panic about him leaving, he's not irreplaceable, I love the bloke but I wouldn't begrudge him leaving to a club like arsenal, he's probably never gonna get this sort of chance again, if he leaves then good luck to him, as others have said there has never been a better time to cash in on him if we decide to

Where have I said they aren't a bigger club?

You said he has more chances of a trophy at Arsenal, Arsenal have won two FA cups in 10 years, moving to them for trophies is not exactly fool proof. So let's not kid ourselves that the money isn't a big draw. Do I blame him, no. Will I boo him, no. So get off your high horse and stop trying to make out I'm saying things that I wasn't.

You correctly stated we're entering the same amount of competitions but, use your head, who have more chance of winning them? Leicester or Arsenal? Because I'd go for the latter. We're talking about a side that consistently finishes top 4 now I'd say we've no chance of competing with that.

Arsenal are a massive club. Much bigger than us. Atletico and Dortmund have won their league and STILL lost players to Bayern and other clubs. One great season does not equate to being on par with Arsenal.

This title win has clouded the views of some people.

Yes mate and all are in agreement arsenal historically are a bigger club than us. You said he has more of a chance to win trophies there though.

Based on the last 13 years (longer than Vardy's entire career) we have won more trophies and have just won the league.

We've won more trophies at different levels.

A second tier title. Arsenal did not play in that league, in fact, they finished 4th in the top flight. So it's not a comparison is it.

All these comments slagging him off disgusting, any of our players should be automatically classed as legends to us particularly Vardy for what they have done for the club. What did everyone expect for them to stay her forever with no other clubs ever enquiring for them? After reading some of the comments on here and directed to his Mrs on Twitter I would leave. Absolute embarrassing

Agree 100% Jace

I just don't understand why we put the clause in regardless of if they wanted it put in or not!! I'm sure he signed a contract the beginning of the season so he obviously still had plenty of time left on it!

I'm sure we were giving him the new contract with increased wages as a reward for his performances and to reflect his international status.... If he refused to sign we should have just left him on his lower wage along with no release clause

This is what I find strange.

Vardy in January had 2.5 years left on his contract and on 40k a week with probably no release clause.

We extended his contract by one more year and doubled his wages, he's in no position to demand a relatively low release clause, we had the whip hand at the negotiation table. If he insisted on it we could say no deal and he'd be here now on 40k a week, two years left on his contract and no release clause.

We could have easily forced this through without a low release clause or put in a very high one like £35m. I'm dubious there is a release clause because of this.

Pure fantasy, I know, but imagine if he just said:

"No thanks, I have everything I need at Leicester, and I want to see how this story ends."

Would definitively make this season the best football fans have seen, in my opinion.

1. Beat the big clubs to the title, giving all clubs hope of breaking the Monopoly.

2. Keep the best players out of the greedy clutches of the big clubs.

Beat them at their own game, and then do it again in the off-season, basically.

There is much a lot beyond high salary and club status

Just considering:

As for a fan,if there is interest from Arsenal to make me join me in their fan-club,giving me flyers and etc and trying to convince me to be their fan

i just wouldnot

Not going to get embroiled in any hate or name calling towards him or the never ending "my club's bigger than your club" argument because they're both weak.

Leaves a legend with my best wishes but if he's that desperate to go, let him. It does explain why we've been linked with a glut of strikers that seem similar in style and I've every faith in our recruitment team to replace him as best they can.

You said something along the lines of we've won the same amount/more than Arsenal in the last 10 years... brilliant... Arsenal, we're talking about a major side in football, a side that hasn't been relegated from the top flight since it got promoted.

In the last ten years they've finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 3rd & 4th while we've struggled to get out the second tier.

Unless we finish top 4 again next season we cannot stake a claim that we're as likely as Arsenal to win trophies.

If he wants to go he moves on and so do we.

£20 million for a player pushing 30 is a fair return.

Rather than the loss of the individual I am more worried as to whether it will start a concertina effect.

Cross knew something, he published West Ham's interest weeks ago and knew Vardy was being offered about. He didn't know Arsenal actually bidded.

So he knew Vardy was being offered about, and yet he didn't actually bother to mention it? England striker gets offered around clubs... He decides that's not news worthy.

How do you read that as me saying we are a bigger club? You claiming he is going there for trophies rather than money, I am disputing that money is not playing a part. Trophies are not what he is going for, it's money and prestige.

I didn't, I quoted multiple replies. You all stated different things but I wanted to reply to all.

if he does go, what was all that bullshit about when he said he doesn't want to move and owes leicester everything for giving him a chance etc.

If you quote multiple posts to make the same point, I'm bound to think that the point is aimed at me.

going to be some busy people over the weekend !

Question is, who to replace him with so you don't have to do it all again in a few weeks!

I'd say Albrighton but his face might put people off
