Latching on to a rivalry with Spurs?

 

We just find you hilarious, it's nothing more than that.

You talk about 'guy shouting in a pub' like he's a representative of all Spurs fans.. It's the same mentality as the anti muslin sentiment that is so strong currently. Why not use the Spurs fan that ran on the pitch and saved Muamba's life in that FA cup tie as the example of all of them?

 

A bit of glory can turn fans in to a whole new beast - and there's a part of me that is content without winning cups, and a part that is worried about having a 61,000 top notch stadium with some of the worlds best players.

As a football fan I always support the under dog or the losing team once a game kicks off. We are certainly the under dogs this season, but setting another record point tally last night with 5 games to go is excellent, and a successful season regardless of out final league position.

 

I only post here because it's a shame reading the points of view regarding Spurs - which are predominantly based around fan actions. Interestingly the Chelsea shed end skin heads are overlooked in such discussions, as are the guys who wouldn't let a black guy on a train, as is their racist captain that was shagging his team mates partner? I don't know.. For me, the order of our rivals goes West Ham, Chelsea, Millwall, Arsenal, any Pardew team - and then maybe Leicester if it counts after so many others - excluding foreign teams.

 

Just support Spurs over Chelsea guys! They have purchased plenty of trophy's recently anyway. Don't you want the joy you had to be experienced by others? Or would you rather fans that EXPECT to win titles can say 'good, sack the manager for anything less' at the end of a season?

Some fair points here, but a larger % of your fans are ****ing mouths with no standards of decency than most fanbases, The chants against Adebayor, Wenger etc are evidence of that

 

That said I'm not against Spurs winning the league, prefer you to Arsenal any day of the week.

I haven't see anybody trying to force a rivalry on here. We enjoyed our rivalry last season and the game against Chelsea and most (if not all) Leicester fans call it the best night of our supporting lives. Don't get jealous that we've formed a bit of a friendship (it's more of a respect) because Chelsea turned up that night.

 

I'd actually go as far to say that we have more of a rivalry with Chelsea than yourselves.

I was several rows behind all the trouble which arose through Leicester players flogging ticket allocations to Spurs fans. I think Impey, Lennon, Campbell and Cottee were charged. It was pretty ugly on both sides up the road at the Torch that day too.

Good post.  I for one hope that Spurs win the league and would grant them victory against us if it meant they did so (providing we stayed up though).  I think they are the most exciting side in the league with some of the best, young English players. 

 

Whilst I am grateful to Chelsea for steering us to the title, I really couldn't give a rats knacker about them now.  I look to the future, not the past and I think it would be good for English football if Spurs were to win the league in the coming seasons.  Great manager, fantastic, exciting team.

About six months ago, I reeled off a list of reasons I dislike Spurs. 

 

Firstly I don't get the Chelsea love-in and that hermit who goes aways with the Hazard shirt is obscene. 

 

However, it's quite poignant that we have various tales of Spurs fans running their mouths off and trying to intimidate fans. At the 4-3 game in the league, about 40 minutes before kick off we walked from Northumberland Road station and we were talking between ourselves.

 

When a couple of Spurs fans kept saying 'you are going down mate', 'I don't know why you've come here'. At the time in that season we thought we were down anyway. But why the fcuk did a Spurs fan go out of his way to say that? To get a reaction? Seems a very common theme with their fan base. 

 

Thats before we get to bitter moaner Pochettino.

Sadly from my experience you're firmly in the minority, as every spurs fan i've ever met has been a **** without exception. Sorry....

 

I hate spurs, hope they lose every game at Wembley and end up bankrupt in the championship with that shiny new ground with its own bakery.

It's funny, my hatred of Spurs goes way back and I can't quite put my finger on why.

 

It is not a wannabe rivalry Mampi, we are not and never have been rivals.  It is just a collective hatred that came to the fore last year for obvious reasons but seems to have been lurking under the surface for so many anyway.
