All this Rudkin bashing is tedious in the extreme. Presumably it's some of our younger fans that think winning the premier league and challenging in Europe is the new norm.

This is the most successful period ever for our football club. The ' idiots ' that some of you ridiculously say are in charge behind the scenes, not fit for purpose blah blah have taken this football club to one of the worlds top 20. When I was watching at Filbo we were nowhere near the top 500. We have great owners who have an eye for talent and it's their call who runs our club and how it's run.

some of the criticism of so called ' small ' clubs like west Ham, West brom and any other club not in the top 8 is cringeworthy.

enjoy your holes let the club do what they do best and enjoy the football next season and try to keep a grip on reality!

good post. Well said.

Some of have seen us in through Championship years and the great Premiership years under O'Neil. We have a chance now to really cement ourselves not just as a PL side, but a competitive one at that. I don't have any bad feelings against Rudkin, but I just think he could be taking this transfer window more seriously than conducting his business poolside in a holiday resort. That's a fair enough judgement surely?

As Keane is a full international and more Premiership expperience we could argue his value/rating is higher than Gibsons but if both parties are keen then a compromise should be reached

Its only really been over the past year this Rudkin hate and maybe even envy has shown up on FT. Running narrative seem to be Rudders came up from being in charge of the youth teams/academy for years and left it in a bad state whilst building up a poor reputation when he was promoted by The Chairman to DoF in 2014, where he has done a terrible job in negotiating deals and just about everything else to do with non-first team football. In that time we've had three managers, clung to Premier League status, won the thing and pulled ourselves out of a mess last season. You see established and well respected posters, an admin on here slinging sh** at any opportunity and even Mark(owner of FT) has repped some of the stuff(not suggesting he's a balls deep ITK) but its more than scapegoat status Rudders holds, it seems to be genuine vitriol.

Now undoubtedly we've gone backwards since winning the League. Letting Steve Walsh go, missing out on prime and later proven quality transfer targets and having first team players go when that really hasnt been a known pain since the Thais took over; its brought us all back to earth a little bit. It's definitely questionable and worrying as to why we've gone backwards, though we do seem to be uncharted territory and we're still in a fantastic place as a club. It all makes look for answers and naturally the weight is falling on Rudkin. But again, he's accountable to the owners and is clearly very well held and regarded by self made billionaire business owners who should really be the ones where the buck stops. Proofs in the pudding . . .  If there's genuine insight someone could be willing to divulge us in it would be somewhat of a relief but I suppose we'll find out as it develops over the months and seasons.

Anyway Gibson, Gibbooooo. As much as I want us to sign all of these targets, after signing Maguire you'd find it hard to put another first team worthy CB in the squad, even if we let Benny go I doubt Huth or Morgan are off and they aint gonna sit tight on the bench you'd think, they deserve to play. I just hope we have some idea of what we're doing with transfers this window and not bidding for any and everyone like West Ham, have some idea of whats going to work with us or we get another couple of Musa's running backwards and then out of play once a month.

Age becomes a factor.... How long will you get out of a player ??

Gibsons age adds value

Rudkin's inability to do his job correctly has screwed any chances of us building upon our Premier League title win.

He was under qualified to get the job he's now got and his lack of experience and nous has come to the attention of other clubs who believe they can get an easy ride from us in negotiations.

he has looked good by signing some players because his ineptness has meant he has included release clauses in contracts like they're going out of fashion. This has destabilised us and meant we are at the mercy of every club deciding if they want our player or not and we're powerless to do **** about it.

We could have promoted Steve Walsh but let him leave.

He is friends with Beaglehole and due to that is immune from removal so our youth teams are getting progressively worse.

He was the snake behind Claudio's sacking, as said by the man himself to such effect on Sky.

He is a poison dressed as a businessman in our club.

Well at least he got something right then.

If that is true, without him we;d be looking at a fixture list including Barnsley and Millwall right now.

this post started sensibly, became a bit controversial in the middle, then just went totally off the rails at the end

You ought to drop the owners an e-mail explaining the failings of the the club. They will obviously when you draw their attention to it call an EGM remove the useless suits from their positions and seek your advice for suitable replacements. Keep your mobile on they will be grateful for further advice!
