In the transfer roundup on the mail website:

Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross is wanted by Burnley, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion.

The 29-year-old has been with Stoke for ten years since joining from Manchester United and has one year left on contract.

The club has yet to agree new terms with Shawcross and he is considering his options with one to leave as a free agent next summer.

Burnley, who have already signed Jon Walters and Phil Bardsley from Stoke this summer, are willing to offer £10m for him while his former boss Tony Pulis would love to have him at West Bromwich Albion and Craig Shakespeare is keen to take him to Leicester. Rafa Benitez has also expressed interest at Newcastle United.

Another United academy graduate who's done pretty well for himself. Mate has a season ticket at Stoke though and reckons he's past his best already, would moan about him regularly last season. Didn't realise he was only 29.

Same fans that moaned about Huth, look what happened there!

He's been poor for 1/2 seasons now, but I don't think he's been helped by Hughes wanting to play tiki taka and having defenders at the half way line.

Another leader in the squad who'd fit our style of play, in need of a fresh start like Huth a couple years ago. It's a yes from me.

No better and may be even worse than what we have.  There must be better options than this.. If I was paid to scout, I am certain I could find someone better in the Austrian Bundesliga than him.

My stoke supporting BIL has said for the last couple seasons that he's not be the same player since his injuries.

So no for me!

Could be another Huth, but he said the opposite when we sign him, he couldn't believe they let him go!

no thanks he's going to want four years two of which we will carry him. That and he won't be as cheap as some think and a big wage.
