UPinCarolina Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 When Iborra and Huth are back (and DD if we don't sell) we will look a formidible unit.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Very good performance - as others said a bit flat in parts but a solid performance and some great shifts by individuals. Maguire, outstanding. Ozakaki has upped his game, Albrighton and Mahrez were great. Really worried about Morgan and Vardy though - any word on their injuries? They are vital

I'd love to see him succeed as he must have gone through hell with that injury, but I just don't see him ever being more than Championship standard. He's just too slow. Just showing a bit of moderation. He hasnt made me jizz over him but he had a good game. I didnt see anything to suggest he was a plodder over the last 2 games. And this was his first 90 mins back in the top flight. He will get better and I think he's played well

Countryfox Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 If you are the bloke who rang in after the game and said we are boring and should play with more flair even if we don't win some games because of that .... You talk sh1te !!!
Clever Fox Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 A comfortable win and gets us points on the board. I liked the attitude right from the start. On the front foot and completely dominated them. That's something we weren't doing to the lesser Teams the last couple of seasons. Maguire clearly MOM followed by Mahrez, Okazaki, Ndiddi, and Simpson. Shakey needs to improve his substitutions and game Management. There's no point risking key players when the game was won. He should have taken Vardy off immediately after the first injury and brought on Gray earlier. What happened last Week may have doubted his judgment, But he shouldn't worry about it. He will in time improve this part of his Management. All part of his learning.
EnglishOxide Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Am I missing something with Morgan? People are saying he's injured even though he played the full 90? We kept a clean sheet. Or are people just slagging him off because we have a new £17m centre back who happens to potentially be very good. 2 centre backs are needed for our team you know. And if Huth comes in you will be slagging him off in no time too.

He seemed ok after that but pulled up again near the end if I remember rightly. Definitely was in pain

lanefox Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 They made the game boring , mahrez different class but needs to do that week in week out , morgan was clumsy, magiure was composed and had a solid all round game

dedlock Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Mahrez had more freedom than most games last season. Brighton didn't double up on the marking as often as most teams.
Bert Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Good performance. Early goal killed it in a weird way, their heads dropped straight away and you could see why. They weren't very good. Didn't even really get out of 2nd gear. Battled well and did everything required to beat a team that you are far superior than. Maguire and Mahrez were absolute class. Tougher tests to come, but we were missing a few key players and didn't even need to be at our best.
sdb Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Couldn't believe the space they allowed us from the off. We'd basically won the game 2 minutes in. We looked good. Everyone put in a good shift and nice to see Maguire look the part and Mahrez back to his best. Can't be a better dribbler & first touch in the league.

We have been a little unfortunate with injuries but hopefully that improves. I know Thracian and the like think it means anyone that is injured either has a bad attitude or is never to be seen again because something is definitely going on behind the scenes but I think probably if they are injured they are just, you know, injured? Once they are all back and James is more match fit I think we will genuinely have a stronger squad than I can ever remember X

Spot on, plus we have 4 big players to come back and with the additions of Iborra, Kelchi and Maguire we have only really lost one key player in Kante since our title win... making us stronger than the previous 2 seasons bearing in mind we keep hold of everyone... we are capable of beating anyone on our day so should make for a interesting season.

Fox 4 Life Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Shakey said vards is just a knock and he'll be fine. Didn't he say the same about kelechi?
Fox92 Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Solid performance, Brighton didn't offer much. Mahrez superb.

Bluetintedspecs Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Very thorough and professional today. Early days but Maguires is immense MOTM for me.
z-layrex Posted 19 August 2017 Posted 19 August 2017 Brighton are one of the worst premier league teams I've seen in ages. Echoes of Derby 07.

Some guy on the BBC was touting him for England - well I guess people do get called up quickly these days and he has impressed for a year or so now. Hopefully we can do a job on Brighton next week too.
