I wish I was at Disney...without the kids etc

We weren't really tested honestly. Brighton are so like Boro last season, quite solid but with not threat. Althought they got better when Knockaert came on towards the end.

Good, solid, professional performance - not something to be sniffed at in the PL.

Excellent from motm Maguire, good showings from Ndidi and Mahrez too.

Morgan just looked a shade off the pace even before the injury. Looks a tad unfit to me. Hopefully he can step up, otherwise he'll find himself replaced by Huth.

Vards injury didn't look too bad, so fingers crossed.

Great game. Mahrez looked good. James and Ndidi is working nice. Maguire is an absolute gem.

Hope Vardy is ok and we can get a replacement in for Morgan if his back is ****ed.

Brighton were really crap though.

Can Mickey play centre back

I think he'd be best in goal. Size of those ears and hands, nothing's getting past him

Did you tell him we're playing in his cup tournament Tuesday night?

I don't recall ever seeing a more aerially dominant performance than that of Harry Maguire today, unreal stuff. We're crying out for someone else to play alongside him though.

Brighton were not great, reminiscent of Middlesborough last season but worse defensively.

Anyway, a first home win and more importantly we actually look dangerous going forward again.

Very solid display. Never troubled and could easily have scored more. Harry Maguire is absolute class. It makes a massive difference to have someone composed at the back as an outlet who can bring the ball forwards and build our play from the back. Incredibly he looked one of our most creative players when on the ball. No surprise he started out in midfield.

Have to to say that Brighton were really poor though and will go down for sure with that sort of performance. Honestly it was game over after 60 seconds and the clean sheet never looked in doubt.

Next up in the league we have a horrible run of games where I doubt we will pick up many points. But based on what I've seen having been to both games makes me excited. Need to keep Mahrez though, at least till January.

A comfortable win over Brighton side who were mediocre at best. Well chuffed about Dirty Harry and The Wind-up Samurai both scoring and having a great game. I guess Shakes keeping Mahrez on was his way of saying 'can you feel the love Riyad?' Let's hope that Vards is fine. Now bring on The Blaaaaaaaades :scarf:

Take a bow Riyad Mahrez.

As I've said in his transfer thread. Funny how a whole summer passes without a single offer close to satisfactory coming in and Riyad is strangely  back to his best in August while the window is open, call me cynical like.

Brighton were desperately desperately poor, we didn't really need to be that on it to get the result. Disappointed we didn't put them to the sword early on when we could have and then the game sort of became a borefest.

Hope we get Drinky back soon, James and Ndidi just doesn't work that great for me. And Huth for Morgan.

Great to see Mahrez back on it and Maguire is class, can't be far off the England squad.

Albrighton and McGuire really need to be in the next England squad.

this shows why we aren't ready for man united we let Brighton take possession from us it was a good win but it just reinforces our worries vardy is injured we have a pensioner in defence and we can't hold the ball I hope we can survive united

He's only just started his city career but we'll do well to keep Maguire beyond this season, he's looking a lot like the defender Man City thought Stones was.

I'm away in London and pleased at the result but the prospect of Vardy being crocked and Mahrez being sold and Wes being injured with the incoming run of games gives me a really, really uneasy feeling.

cheque book time.
