Koke Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 Our class showed in the end. First half we were average but second half we woke up and moved the ball a lot quicker. Gray, Slimani and Chilwell stand out players. Ulloa is a spent force.
Webbo Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 We're going to need a big striker to change the game when we're struggling. Atm Vardy and Okazaki are the first choice pairing, that will evolve into Vardy and Inenacho eventually. That would make Slimani 4th choice with the odd substitute appearance , will he be happy to be in that role? Could be that Slimani wants to be a starter and who would blame him? We might end up Keeping Ulloa and selling Slimani.
Loves2spooge Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 Slim is just trying to teach those Homophobic fans a lesson by kissing and impregnating his fellow teammates Slim the Hentai hero
Babylon Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 To think we still have Huth, DD, Iborra, Nacho to add to the squad when fit. Plus hopefully a CB to replace Benny who looks a gonna. We look very strong at the moment and I think we've played some nice stuff so far under CS. Definitely nowhere near as much hoofball as we had started to play under Ranieri. Promising.

matty98 Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 Probably Slimani's best performance in a Leicester shirt, chased everything down, created some great chances and would've had a hattrick had it not been for a bad call from the linesman. If Okazaki hadn't had such a good start to the season he'd be in the 11 on Saturday without a doubt.

He does a job and has started brilliantly but I think Slim and Nacho will be ahead of home soon enough. Especially in games we are more happy to attack.

As you say, if we can add a CB and an RB then we have a very healthy squad. My preference would be to have the likes of Musa, Mendy and Amartey in and around the squad (if they're prepared to be patient) rather than loaning them out.

Agreed, even in the Arsenal game we looked to build attacks rather than always look for Vardy over the top. I don't mind us playing direct football but mix it up a bit. It helps when Slimani comes short to allow a passed ball rather than a hoof to a big man. 9 goals from three games and also the set-pieces look to be far more threatening than previously.
Struwwelpeter60 Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 We should not get too excited. I mean, we paid for Musa alone more than SU for their whole squad. The best player on the pitch tonight was David Brooks. That guy is just 20 and, in my opinion, at least as good as Gray. We should try to get him. The window is still open.

He held the ball up brilliantly tonight and played some great passes forward whilst also closing down and working hard. I think Vardy would have linked up well with him tonight as Slimani was constantly looking up to play a ball forward into space. Shame it was Ulloa ahead of him most the time so he had to push it out wide to Gray or Musa. Still think that him and Vardy could form a decent partnership and how great would it be to have two genuine goal scorers on the pitch.

I agree with not getting carried away, but compare this performance to the abject ones last year against Millwall and Derby (away).
AylestoneRaider Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 Really think Musa has potential. That pace is ridiculous, he just seems to lack confidence. Towards the end he looked a real player.

In one game you decided that? He was indeed impressive but at least as good as Gray I think is a stretch.

Devonfox1884 Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 Chilwell is so naive defensively it's untrue. He's great going forward though - would make an ideal wing back. He has a lot of work to do to dislodge Fuchs I feel.

As for the saves - fair enough, reasonable positioning, but they were bread and butter stops, not too powerful and straight down his throat. The one time he was really extended he went over the ball and only just got away with By all means correct me but I'm pretty sure Hamer started the attacks for Gray's goal and for Slim's first. Just an example of good, quick and important distribution in the highlights.
Brooksy Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 Different class second half. Hope we put a bid in for that Brooks.
Kitchandro Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 Let's not get carried away guys. We were professional in the second half against a poor side but the majority of those players are nowhere near good enough for Premier League games. If anything, tonight highlighted how much the squad needs to be improved.
Koke Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 Ì dont wanna be a doom monger but we played a second string Championship side. Nice win and some decent performances but we gotta remember who the opposition were. And yes we can only beat what's in front of us.
Vocey Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 Great 2nd half performance, made light work of a tricky tie. Slimani, King and Ndidi excellent . Musa is a riddle.

He is a wild card, I like a few of them about the squad. Sublime and ridiculous in equal measure.
Nick Posted 22 August 2017 Posted 22 August 2017 I had to miss the second half so haven't seen the goals yet - anybody got a link? I am recording it on Sky but must wait as its not on again until tomorrow now and not yet on catch up!

David Brooks may have been United's best player but not the best on the pitch and I think we have one of the best 20 year olds in the country in Wilf. He's been a superb buy.
