Our defence and midfield sadly isn't good enough to do that for 90 mins. When we did break we didn't commit enough men on the counter and our play was very poor, especially in the first half. Second half we actually looked fairly decent going forward and Mahrez was our main threat. Two disappointing goals to concede, one from a corner with the worst marking I've seen for a while. The lad has had time to volley the ball in. The second one was offside. Thiught N'Didi had his worst game for us in a Leicester shirt tonight. Totally agree .. i am a big N'didi fan but he was off his game tonight. But on a positive id rather he off his game today then next week against Chelsea when i think we have more of a chance of points. No player is perfect and they will all have an off day, am happy he did it on a game that chances were we were not gonna win .., And not saying that in a pesimistic way

EGBFitness Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 I'm not banging the Shakey out drum (far from it!) but I feel like we've lost 2 games he could of managed better during the game and changed the outcome. Big managers make big decisions and change games (something Ranieri was spot on with in title winning season). Arsenal game we should of won, Wenger changed the game by bringing on Ramsey and Giroud (both scored) and same was tonight, Fellani and Rashford (both scored). Performance wise i think we have been spot on and perfectly set up tactically from the start just not been there during the game to change it tactically though unfortunately.

Marking for Rashford goal was poor tbh and Felanie was offside. We gave ball away to often again any decent side will punish you for that sooner or later. Injured players to come back aswell, its not all doom and gloom. Arsenal away,Brighton home and Man utd away 3 points so far on paper at the start seems about right. Think we will finish top 10 at least... They won't win the league...they will come unstuck against all of the top teams...I wasn't impressed at all, we were poor and made them look better than they actually are....
Wymsey Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 If Pogba hits the target more, instead of being unluckily going just wide (which seems to be a majority of his shots), then they'd be more clinical. Not sure their defence is as strong as some say it is.

steflcfc Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Hopefully we will get a bit more clearer idea of our squad once the window is shut. I do feel that we have a number players who's futures are in the balance (Mahrez,Drinky,Gray,Slim,Musa,Mendy) and it's not really helping. Adding that to a lot of our new signings the last couple of seasons hitting the Physio table very quick. I do question some of Shakeys gameplan/substitutions, but I will give him time as he is learning. We caused a lot of our own problems today with extremely poor ball retention, some of it was rediculously simple and we struggle to put 5 passes together. I know we don't rely on mass possession stats, but we should be able to take the sting out of oppositions attacks once we're back in control of the ball.
AlloverthefloorYesNdidi Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 We probably need to start looking to play without Okazaki starting, much as it breaks ma heart to say it

Thing is we know Marc can and often does create, gray really needs to work on final product intelligence, is not ready yet to be LC LW, not yet. Staffs Fox Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 I have only read the first few pages but my my god what a bunch of bedwetters a lot of you really are! We played Man United away (literally the most expensivly assembled squad in world football) and lose 2-0 Away. Did you expect us to have the majority of the ball and 7 clear cut chances?? Our defence was immense and every player gave 100% we were beaten by a much better team. Did you start supporting us in 2015?? This stuff happens and we'll be back next week and be fine. Trust me we'll be top half this season

We were getting overrun with 2 in the middle and the goal was inevitable. Just a shame we had to throw it away at a set piece.

We would score a lot more. Shinji runs a lot and can score from 5 yards out but thats about it.
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Thought the defence was very good ... its inevitable that we were going to concede with no midfield protection. Two in midfield was never going to work against this lot .... but Shakey really did not have much choice. Gray I thought made some poor decisions but he was a threat as soon as he came on and United were not sure how to deal with him . Mahrez was Mr invisible again .

High hopes for Iborra. James returning from a long lay off and still young. N'Didi quality on his day. King and Amarty provide adequate back up when required. I'd like the one more quality CAM ideally, but it is what it is.

Therefore I ask you: why did you expect it to be worse? Right now, after 3 games, we are in the same position as last year: 16th The difference is, that we have conceded three more and scored two more than last season. But what makes me really angry is the fact, that 50% of our GA resulted from corners. Some things obviously never change. No matter, who is playing at CB or who is the manager. Because............. No Little French Guy, (Kante) No Big German Bloke (Huth) No potential Chelsea and Englishman (Drinkwater) Oh, and No Italian Bloke (Ranieri) They also have JM as their manager now with an influx of some exceptional talent. I understand your frustration but we are two years on from the days when we went to OT and scraped a 1-1 thanks to Morgan I've seen us lower than 16th more times than I wish to remember and that's after more than 3 games........ So my glass is half full so to speak I said 9 points after 7 games and I'll be happy and that remains the same

He's not getting worse. He's playing with a worse partner in a midfield 2. James has been out for 2 years and In that time the difference between him and DD has increased massively. That's the reality. Hope that James can close that gap now that he's fit. Maybe he can but he will have to get to a level we have never seen him perform at yet as Drinky got way better in the time James was injured.
Ric Flair Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 I thought we were really bad today. 4-4-2 was so predictable as was the outcome. James was horrific but the plus points were Maguire, Kasper and Riyad in flashes once again. Regroup after the international break. Could be in the bottom 3 after the next 3 league games though.

Fox92 Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Just got back. Typical Old Trafford quiet until they score. Yet again, just like Arsenal, central midfield ain't good enough. James looked good against a poor Brighton side but overrun so easy against better sides. Mahrez was our best player and, in fact, our only attacking threat. Thought the back four were pretty sound. We conceded two sloppy goals - yet again. When will I feel confident when we're defending corners??
