enmac Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 Again there is no conspiracy. What have FIFA got to gain from unfairly treating any club?Have they still got his mob no? No it wouldn't. Sent from my Fusion5_108 (16GB) using Tapatalk
WigstonWanderer Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 So we will have wasted around 5m in wages and contract depreciation and pissed off Silva who now won't be able to play competitive football in a World Cup season.

It won't be a waste of money as we would be paying him either way. He will play the final five months of the season.

TheLittleBigMan Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 I think I might just wait and see what happens.
Livid Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 I'm sure this kind of things happens with major transfers all the time..........who am I kidding, it's us. I've said it before certain parts of this club are Champions League standard, other parts nearer league 2. I feel for him, he's been royally fecked over in trying to sign for us in the past year.

A central midfield choice of James, King, Amartey, Ndidi and Iborra. That's not good enough. We'd best hope Iborra is fit quick and neither him or Wilf get a serious injury.
Wrighty22 Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 The club could at least have the decency to update us. They owe us that!

Farrington fox Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 Where does Neville fit in all of this?
stu Posted 6 September 2017 Author Posted 6 September 2017 @PsoccerCOM: Per A Bola, Adrien's transfer was rushed through the Transfer Matching System and submitted 11 seconds late. Surely if the case we'd be able to appeal?
KFS Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 Oh fvck off FIFA you jobsworths. If it's 11 seconds you can waive that you absolute cvnts.
murphy Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 Sod FIFA. Lets join Nick Jarvis' world league.

I mean who does the timekeeping, CERN? do all the clubs have synchronised clocks?

StriderHiryu Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 11 seconds!!! You would hope that FIFA has some common sense and allows this to go through, but they are notoriously bureaucratic with their processes. My gut feeling is that they will let us field the player, but it will take a few weeks of back and forth. Really frustrating and it reminds me of the Kante situation last year where we didn't really replace him and our league position suffered. In theory we could probably be alright without Silva but it's a big downer because without him the squad is a lot worse. I feel most sorry for the player, we've messed him around 3 times now, last summer, deadline day and now this fiasco! Sure he gets paid but I'm sure he wants to play and prove himself in the Premier League. At my gym this morning they played the last game he played for Sporting where he scored. He looked good and I can see him fitting in quite nicely in to the team... in January!

Vacamion Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 11 seconds is a long and meaningful period of time. As I keep telling the missus.

st albans fox Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 Do we really believe that FIFA would inform the clubs and the player that the registration is rejected for being 11 seconds late? they would surely waive it through wth a comment to both parties that a repeat of this wouldn't be sanctioned next time. the fact that it is now in the in the public domain makes it very difficult for them to backtrack as it becomes precedent. If 11 seconds is ok, then what about 30? Or 1 minute. What is considered ok? There is a deadline after several months. I expect FIFA's view is that provides enough time. they could make a statement that there is there is evidence that the process was completed in time at both points of origin but a delay with electronic comms meant it came into their system several seconds over time. That they have not rejected the registration but merely asked both parties for more evidence of timings. however, because we are not a high profile club, I don't think they will care. Our only hope is that they show sympathy for the player caught up in all of this. my gut feeling now is that because this has leaked out its going to be extremely tough to change their stance. Forget us lot - it's a big shame for silva who will miss out on six CL ties.
