Vardy - I want to win more trophies

He mentions going to America or China so think he's more talking about when he's only got a couple of years left in him.

Quite a nice article really, shows him in a positive light and he seems to genuinely want to help players in non-league to progress their careers.

He probably has 3-4 years left as a top striker.  I can see that staying here for this season and possibly next season would make sense for him and then, with a year left on his current deal, he'll move and finish his career in the USA/China while he still has something to offer.

Whatever happens, he isn't going to be a Leicester player forever.

What's wrong with our players, such a lack of respect being shown to the club at the minute. No problem talking about wanting to win more trophies, but openly discussing moving on is crossing the line.

Just seen something about this on SSN.

Some one at the club, needs to put a lid on this.

Far too many players openly coming out talking about leaving.

WE OUR NOT A HAPPY SHIP!

We cant be:ph34r:

Owners need to put at PR statement out regarding lcfc plans . Cause this ship looks rudderless ATM.

Players taken over the aslylum!

Seemed like a balanced interview to me, He been asked a question and answered honestly, would you prefer him to say I'd never leaving LCFC to then move two weeks later like lots of player i.e Delph.

Every player has a price and a dream move.

This is what happens when you have some success. With ever higher lifelong sustaining wages trophies and playing in the CL becomes the main differentials.

No issues with any of that, he's just saying what anybody would do to be fair. Unfortunately for him I don't think anyone would be willing to pay what we want or what he is currently receiving from us.

Unbelievable. All these players who want to win trophies. **** sake, what do they think we want to do?

Seriously, Vardy and his mates should've remembered this "ambition" when they turned out that shower of shite in the first half of last year.

Believe it or not there are ways to answer it without extremes like your example.

I'm surprised by this. Normally Vardy says the right things in the press.

I don't blame him for being interested if a bid came in from a big club, but to say it in the press smacks of trying to engineer a move. The timing is strange.

We are in an odd position as a club currently, due to the unexpected success, but we need the squad and staff to truly believe that they can achieve great things again and spring another surprise. Instead, Drinkwater has gone, Mahrez wants to leave, Vardy has said he would consider moving and even Schmeichel has talked about the Champions League being addictive. It seems like the squad have accepted that we are back to being a mid table team.

I think the club is becoming the victim of its own success. The players all enjoyed a massive high in 2015/16 and then went on to experience an exciting run in the CL last season. Having done that, it is not surprising that they miss those days and can't get as excited over whether we can pip Southampton to 8th place. On top of that, someone like Vards can see his mates leaving/ wanting to leave, and is no doubt being regaled with stories of how great it is at a big club from Kanté and his England team mates. All that said, I'm very surprised he's said what he has in public.

Maybe he feels the loyalty he has shown by not joining the Ar$e last year is now balanced and probably  feels a lot of the "magic" has gone now the trophy winning team has broken up with both Kante and Drinkwater jumping ship and some of our defenders needing to be rested long term (which Shakespeare needs to learn how to do quickly). I hope we've got a Vardyless plan "B" and "C".

Leicester City legend.

Can't blame him for wanting to win more, always felt he comes across as ambitious in his interviews.

But we're fvcked if he goes. Due to our style of football, which is built around him, he's our most important player. We'll not find anybody else like him.

Perhaps this is a little swipe at the club for messing up the Silva transfer?

"Get things organised and on track to compete, or I'll be off."

I think this interview was done on Tuesday.
