Unpopular Opinions You Hold

Aye, wouldn't that be a relief...

Tbh I think I've posted too much recently and now think about just posting where appropriate (quality over quantity etc).

But it's not easy to when I often use my tablet for both personal and work use and the Foxestalk is on my main homepage.

Have you tried porn. There is lots of it catering for all tastes.

Here's my 2 cents.

The goal was great but is made better by the circumstances. An away goal to put your team up 2 against a great team in the CL KO stage is something great.

It's over 2 legs, home and away.

****ing hell I'd never seen that Sinclair effort, that's the best bicycle kick I've ever seen. Better than Zlatan's by far.

Really? Anytime he's on tv it'll get played.

I even went to watch an FA Cup special of Question of Sport live and he was on the show and they played it lol

Yeah, I consume a lot of football media so it’s surprising. I rate him as a pundit too.

But can he do it on a cold Tuesday night in Grimsby?

They are pretty shite.  Which brings me to another unpopular opinion I hold...........

I think the Arctic Monkeys are average at best.  X

...which leads me to another unpopular opinion I hold......that the majority of David Bowie's music was/is bang average.

I'm convinced that a lot of people who say they loved Bowie actually loved his image and what he stood for rather than his music. Don't get me wrong, that's fair enough because the guy was cool as ****, a genius in terms of reinventing himself and an icon of crafting your own identity......but his music.....a lot of it isn't great and I say this as someone who listened to a lot of his music about 10-15 years ago as I was determined to love it but just couldn't.

When you've got over half of the opposition supporters applauding after you've scored against them then you've likely scored a worldie. Brilliant.

I vaguely remember Marc Nygaard (sp) scoring an absolute rocket at our place about 11 years ago and the whole ground clapped. Think QPR won 4-1 that day, could be wrong.

Musical taste, like any taste, is personal. I'd agree that a lot of music that any musician creates is average or worse. I'd like to think that less of Bowie's work was average than the vast majority of other musicians. It's true that his image and what he stood for, at different times affected the way his music was seen but he did also make a lot of great music. I don't think that there is a track on the Ziggy Stardust album (particularly the live version) that isn't fantastic, which is a rare thing to be able to say. Most albums have at least a few "duff" tracks and I'm not saying that there aren't at least 2 Bowie albums that are full of duff tracks (I didn't really care for tin machine or white tie) but considering the amount of music the guy published I think he can be classed as well above average.

I'm sure you'll agree that Freddie Mercury was a genius and Queen a great group but they must have been the greatest group ever for releasing an album with one or two great tracks and a load of shit accompanying them. One of the groups that a greatest hits album is a far better buy than their individual albums.

Think I was there for that one too - last goal of the game, right? Do remember the applause.

You probably wont get too many folk agreeing with you on that one but having said that.........

I kind of a agree with you in the sense that I do not emotionally react to his music in the same way I might to, say, Lou Reed or the Beach Boys (just couple examples, neither are my "favourite").  Objectively I can see that he was a genius and a number of his songs (Life on Mars, Heroes) I think are truly wonderful but something in me does not quite "connect" with his music in a way that it should and I, like you, have tried to love him.  As someone else said, music is subjective and whilst I would never say "Dexys Midnight Runners are better than Bowie" I would happily say "I personally prefer Dexys to Bowie".  I feel the same about the Beatles, I can see that objectively they are probably the best band ever but I just don't like them very much.

He would prob be better playing under Pearson tho

UNPOPULAR... deffo with so many on FT... however, I'd be surprised if NP knew where or how to play him.

My unpopular opinion is Pearson got out of his depth and we would be a mid-Championship team, if he was still our manager.
