Agreed.  Wilf has been a fantastic replacement for Kante but we need someone who is a consistent and better replacement for DD ...   and I haven't seen it yet.   We need more than flashes ...    I hope he does become that player ...   time will tell.

Good player, needs more time. Fairly simple.

 

On him giving the ball away - who doesn't? Can't complain about King and James passing sideways and not taking risks, then when Silva/Iborra come in and attempt more forward passes complain about them misplacing a few

I'm not hugely enamoured so far but given the circumstances regarding his early Leicester career I think you can forgive that, in the last two games I think we've seen better signs to come.  With a normal preseason under his belt and more usual circumstances we'll see better performances from a bloke that's captained a champion's league regular and was an important part of a European Championship winning side

He’s come into the side at a point where Puel has quite openly said we’ll be changing our style of play. The majority are struggling with it, that doesn’t mean I don’t think Silva is struggling with that type of game but playing in an out of sorts team isn’t going to help him. Give him the players around him who can play that way and I think he’ll flourish. He’s had a huge setback which most likely affected him physically and mentally, as well as playing alongside a different partner each week.

 

It’s easy to write a player off without looking at the factors involved, the same as it’s easy to say a player is good without any consistent evidence... but I think he’s shown enough to be given a good go at it for the rest of the season.

Wilf took a little while to hit the ground running; but it didn't help silva lost ability to play for 6 months which'll have impacted probably just as much as being injured; maybe more. You can see his class which will only get better as he learns how to play with the team. 

 

side note; if the spin to set up vardy for a chance against Burnley had paid off think I'd have about fainted :D

He's actually not been getting bossed off the ball so much, seems to have cottoned on that you dont have time on the ball here and looks to me to be voracious enough to protect the ball and hold on to it.  Even Iborra still gets pipped on the ball sometimes and he's had much more game time in the prem than Silva. 

As @Realist Guy In The Room said, his wayward passes in the last match were simple square passes, which to me is a sign of rustiness, but he played some great forward passes. I've seen enough to want to start him with Ndidi every game.  I think with a bit of time he is just what we need: someone to drive us forward and make some positive passes.  Reminds me a bit of Wilshire
