If You Could Be At Any Footballing Moment In History

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about this today. If I had one chance to be at any moment in footballing history (excluding Leicester just to make it a bit more interesting) what moment would I choose? I think I'd need a month to think about it, the mind just eclipses every thought with the next, but I thought it an interesting enough questing to post...

First one that came to mind was Radford's missile for Heredford against Newcastle in '72, but there are so many it's a nearly impossible task...

The one thing I really do regret missing is Vardy's 11th goal against United.

Couldn't get the time off work and I had to resort to BBC Sport notifications on my phone as the rest of Leicester went ****ing berserk.

I'd like to be at the 1974 World Cup final just because Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Neeskens, Muller etc are all on the pitch at one time.

In my liftime, I remember watching the 2005 Champions League final and 2006 FA Cup final and being amazed at how Gerrard dragged that side to win trophies. His FA Cup final goals were amazing.

I'm glad the scoreboard is in the pic as I'd not have had a clue what this was lol

If you were to put this question out to the footballing world I'd wager that there would be a significant amount that would respond with, King Power Stadium 7th May 2016. The global reverberations were that massive.

Other than that, Jason Puncheon going for a shit.

Selfishly,  Spain when Northern Ireland beat them 1-0 in World Cup 82.

For a specific moment and for a team I dont follow, Jimmy Glass' goal  for Carlisle to keep them up in 1999(?) would be up there.

Hillsborough 1989, with the foreknowledge and the ability to stop it from happening.

Add Ibrox, and Heysel .not forgetting Bradford city.

Footballing side...

1970 WC semi-final against WG. Advisor/coach to S. alf Ramsey.

MON, departure...keep him, Heskey and Collymore.

Ranieris reign, told him to keep the BRoom staff and set up.

Relive the 'Whole' PL  title season, but again in 2018/2019.

Not accept any Clause for Kante.

Ice-kings..bad weather lasting I month longer.

I only got to two games in 2015/16 - one was the West Ham cup game, the other was the 0-0 with Bournemouth before I moved to Cape Town. I wish I could have had a season ticket again but to be honest, I was having the time of my life in Cape Town and had 4 brilliant months with my Cape Town Foxes - experiencing the highs and lows of our insane season together on the other side of the world. Plus, witnessing Leicester City win the Premier League from the middle of the Botswana bush is about as unique as it gets - celebrations on trophy day (well, what I can remember of it) is one of my favourite stories to tell, especially as I still have the scars to prove it.

As for non-Leicester moments, it would have to be Wembley 1966, Nou Camp 1999, and Istanbul 2005.

Germany V England 1937. The game where England's players were forced to do the nazi salute.

I would then calmly put a shiny bullet into Adolfs nut & change the course of history.

The most exciting finish to a title race ever. Imagine being a Gooner that night...

Spurs vs Chelsea 2016, i’d love to have been in the spurs end when hazard scored.

Narh I'd want to be in the Chelsea end with a Leicester shirt on, I think they'd have appreciated the craic.
