Sack him, doesn’t matter that we’re on the up in general, we aren’t winning every game and that is unacceptable. We won the league and should therefore be repeating that feat every year.

Why would anyone want to sack him? He's at least twice the manager of Shakey and I can't see any jobless managers out there that we could attract and would do any better.

We need better players. Not a better manager.

I like that Puel yesterday said Man City's bid was disrespectful. Confirmed that the approach was 48 hrs before deadline

Not many or any in the media saying how disrespectful it was

Dean Saunders disagrees though, so he's wrong.

Things feel like they’ve gone downhill recently even if we are still in the same position more or less.

On paper Puel’s philosophy on how to play makes sense. Control the game, make more chances and win. But in reality we have lots of meaningless possession. I didn’t see Southampton last season from January onwards but I’m guessing it was a lot like this. We’ve looked dangerous when going behind and the reason is we play less of a possession game and more of a physical / direct style. Unsurprisingly this is more effective as it’s our “on the ball” style during the title winning year.

I think for Puel it’s starting to reach a crossroads. I just don’t think the players know how to play his style. It’s too slow and doesn’t create many clear cut chances. The players look visibly frustrated by it. This means he’s either got to buy a number of new players (which I don’t see happening) or change the style (which I also don’t think will happen). I don’t want him to fail but we are underperforming at the moment.

I hope Puel learns and that we play the ball faster as I feel that’s our biggest issue. We take 2-3 touches before passing and it gives the other team plenty of time to get into shape. And if we can’t move it faster then I think we have to realise this style doesn’t work for us.

Puel..I think..us an energy leech...he has sucked it out of the squad. How does inspire them with that quiet droning voice..he should get a job as a librarian in a sleepy french village..

His performance on the bbc interview after the match was the usual disjointed woffle which does nothing for his credibility.

i want him to succeed but he is making the same mistakes again and again which suggests issues behind the scenes which we are not aware of but which are costing us points in the league.

Sean Dyche would have been just the right type of manager city should have got. We would have played the the type of direct attacking football we were used to (not hoofball). The type of football the Puel wants us to play isn't right for the Premiership.

Not for me..

Pre Puel the only manager i was remotely interested in was Raffa. He always has a plan B, C & D... just sadly for Newcastle fans, lacks the monetary support from their owner.

Dont think you have watched much Burnley. Route 1 so much. They just won their first game since December 12th.

Don't know whether it's been mentioned but at home to bournemouth, stoke and swansea you have to start with 2 upfront. I know inechecho didn't do a lot when he came on but at least start with an attacking intent. I like puel but at the minute he's not helping himself with his selection.

To be fair they have had really bad luck with injuries, which will have played its part in a smaller squad.

You're the first to notice this.

The way we're playing atm you can see why Southampton got rid of puel. The setup looks like don't get beat and then go from there, this works imo away to the sides we've played recently - swansea stoke bournemouth but at home youve got to start on the front foot. These sides set up to get a point and you have to be creative against them and have a go. God knows why he doesnt play ndidi Silva Iborra in midfield. James doesn't contribute enough.

Puel can't set up teams to win at home simple as. He's an away specialist and that's not for us.

If we hadn’t won since December 12th it would be Dyche out on Foxestalk. Absolute certainty.

I miss the energy we used to have. It’s like he’s sucked it all out of the team.

Plod, plod, plod...sideways pass, then plod some more.

One nil down and then a manic last 15 minutes

I'm shocked that we're still 8th, just shows how poor the league is atm. I don't want to be in the puel out group but if we carry on like this till the end of the season I think we might look elsewhere in the summer. I hope it's just a bad run but playing vardy upfront on his own is questionable especially at home.

Earlier in the season, I was very impressed by Puel. I thought he was doing a good job of tweeking our style of play slightly to make us more comfortable on the ball if we needed to be. We played some great football at times, and I was convinced that it was only going to get better.

Sadly, it is now very clear to me that he does not know what he's doing. Time and time again we are failing to beat inferior opposition at home, and it's down to his tiresome safety first tactics. Why can't he see that it's not working? What's the point of it? We're not picking up the points we should be, and it's also horrible to watch. The worst of both worlds. We've got to be more dynamic, especially at home. Has he watched any videos of the title-winning season at all? He's making exactly the same mistake Ranieri did in his second season - valuing possession stats over goals. Who gives a flying fuch how well we keep the ball? Doesn't matter one bit.

People might argue that it's not his squad yet and that he should be given the summer. I'd point out that he had this squad playing some really good football earlier in the season, and it's all been downhill from there. I've seen enough to convince me that he shouldn't be given a chance to shape the squad. Furthermore, it would probably end up a disaster if he brings in players to suit the turgid, impotent game he wants to play. Another thing is his bizarre team selections. He often drops players who are doing well for no apparent reason and picks players who continue to disappoint. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the players are fed up of the awful tactics and man management.

It's such a shame. It was so easy to finish 6th this season as everyone but the top 5 has been piss poor. We're actually very lucky to be where we are - it's only because the teams around us are just as bad.

I've had enough. I think we have to change manager again sooner rather than later, because I can't see any good reason to believe it's going to get any better.
