Sure I saw it mentioned it was also to do with Barnsley's ownership change and a different policy they've taken. Odd because he's been doing well and playing games, suppose we'll see if he'll be off on loan again or he'll be popping his head around the managers office the rest of the season.

He didnt play any competitive games here earlier in the season did he? You can only turn out for 2 teams in a season these days

Would imagine we’d rather loan him to a play off side. Would like to see him at Bristol City or someone similar

5 goals and 4 assists in the championship good now we should loan him to a top flight team and see what he can do

Swansea would be chuffed to get him, finally replace Siguardsson.

He has been badly off form recently at Barnsley who are now in a relegation battle, he is no longer guaranteed to play every week there. I reckon we'll assess him over the next month and decide if he is to go out on loan again to a different club

Barnsley have not played in the FA cup.

I hope he gets a chance here and perhaps the FA Cup game might be that chance?

Thanks. I was too lazy to look it up.

Presumably it’s as simple as Puel wanting to take a look at him. He has been playing regularly and seemingly doing well for Barnsley so it makes sense to have a look at him now. I would expect him to be involved against Fleetwood.

Puel wanted him back rather than anything else.

He won't play in the FA Cup for us because it'll mean he'd be stuck in the reserves for the rest of the season. Can't play for more than 2 clubs a season.

We'll just put him back on loan to a more attacking Championship side.

No chance of him going to a PL club on loan at this stage, none would want him.

Unless his idea is to get him in the first team. Puel does speak highly of Barnes.

I am excited. I have liked the look of Barnes at Barnsley and want him around the first team.

I agree that he looks a hell of a player but I think it'd be best for him to go on loan to a promotion chasing side and then have him in the squad next season.

Puel has recalled young forward Harvey Barnes from his loan spell at Barnsley because he had been impressed with his displays in the Championship and wants him involved with his first team.

“Because when some players, a young player, go on loan with different clubs I look at them to feel their quality,” he said.

“I think Harvey can bring something for the team. He needs to continue to work and if we can help him develop with the team in the training session and perhaps some game time it will be a good thing for him.

“But he has good quality and what he can do on the pitch with Barnsley was amazing.”

Puel will take a look for a couple of weeks.

But I should imagine injury apart, he will back off some where in the Champ. Barnsley fans seem convinced he will being playing for Bristol City by end of January.

I think this is great! Says a lot about Puel that he's willing to get a closer look at our young players. Given that we often play just one up front and three wingers / attacking midfielders, I could see Barnes getting some minutes this season as an option from the bench.

Plan B if someone like Mahrez moves?

Either this or the fact he and Barnsley have dropped off a cliff performance wise lately.

I don't think Barnsley have scored in about five games. It's very unlikely he'll develop massively there.
