Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

yeah, i agree with that. think you (and others) equate talent to ability while i equate talent to potential.

can't help but think of gray while reading your post lol

I think talent equates to both of those things. I'm glad you said Gray because hes the perfect example ? naturally talented lad with all strength and pace. Everything you could possibly want yet he doesn't seem to be fulfilling his potential. Whilst he's undoubtedly talented. But he's not developing it. Like mahrez did after we signed him ;)

You're not going anywhere mate, don't be such a drama queen.

No way you're getting banned just because your'e Algerian and a Mahrez fan. I for one enjoy your posts so stick around and keep posting.

You're one of the good guys mate and even if Mahrez left I still reckon you'd follow us and post on here

I have a job. If I don't like it I look for another job. But if that doesn't happen I still have to turn up for work in my current job. Bloody footballers and their over inflated sense of self. Mahrez needs to get over himself and man up. Time to go back to work. My Grandad played for the City at a time when you had to have a second job as well, so consider yourself lucky son !

No mate so nah nah na nah nah and do one :P

Good news though from one of our informed Algerian crew, mardy arse has got a sick note, will not be fined and is returning on Monday. He is now guaranteed a move in the summer to a World super power for £150 million.

Whereas I hope all this is true, I call it that the penny has dropped and unless he pulls his fingers from up his arse and returns to work, apologises to the Club and teammates he won't get his move and his career will be in tatters.

I reckon he is f**ked now,if he spits his dummy out and doesn't perform well for rest of season then no-one will buy him and if he plays out of his skin, his value will go even higher and no-one will pay it.

Didn't want to start a new thread but just wanted some clarification on a few things with Mahrez. So some media outlets and pundits etc are claiming we've blocked Mahrez from moving for 4 transfer windows. So if that's the case, thay takes us back to the transfer window after we won the league. Now correct me if I'm wrong but im pretty sure he signed a new contract that transfer window and there was some kind of agreement where he would give us another year and then we'd allow him to leave the following season for the right money. So the 2nd transfer window in question was last January where we received no bids for him. Again please correct me if I'm wrong. Then the 3rd transfer window was last summer where we only received 1 bid for him from Roma which was way below his value. So at this point we haven't actually gone against our word to Mahrez as we have not received any sufficient bids for him. So the 4th transfer window  we also receive no bids until deadline day where Man city bid £60m. So yes someone has finally met his market value but on deadline day where we can't replace him so we choose to increase his market value to stop the sale due to the poor timing. Now I may have my blue tinted specs on but I genuinely do not see where our club has done anything wrong here. Yet most of the media seem to be blaming this whole circus on us and not on Mahrez or man city. Please can someone fill in the blanks for me as I am very confused about others perception of this situation compared to my own

The media doesn’t like the narrative of a smaller club standing up for itself especially when the lord and saviour Pep Guardiola is involved.

Harry’s interview yesterday sounded as though there was no doubt he is coming back.  It was all ‘he will’ and ‘when’ rather than if and ‘whether’.

Maybe the player is equally miffed at Man City for not coughing up the fee. After all, guardiola leaving an empty space on the bench yesterday seemed to be a comment to his bosses on the fact he hadn’t got his man.

Can we please differentiate between Algerians - who are a very nice, respectful people and playerfans. Some of the comments here although understandable could be seen as racist.

For example I'll always appreciate Mahrez football skills but I will never again respect Mahrez the man. He has spat in the face of the supporters by not playing these last 2 games and helping us to earn 5 more points.

Those 5 points could be the difference between Europa league and nothing or 7th and 14th.

Still can’t work out why the richest club on earth wouldn’t pay the asking price. They’re hardly a principled club are they.

They are trying to show that they can be profitable and FFP2 is coming apparently (which makes their stance on mahrez  even more odd)

i think there is probably a bit of a stand off between the manager and the board. The manager can sit there and say that they won’t pay vast sums for players and even vaster wages but when this means he doesn’t get the player he wants (twice in a month) you begin to see his cloak drop .

Why don’t they just build another stand and fill it full of cheapo seats that their owner pays for then.

Because they were never ever really interested in buying Mahrez in the first place.

It was an attempt at unsettling the player (with the blessing of Riyad's agent, I presume) and they cannot afford to dish out £95m in the January transfer window in addition to the £60.5m they've already spent on Laporte and Jack Harrison. They also bought a young Dutch defender named Philippe Sandler from PEC Zwolle, pushing it to £63m.

We can all agree that it'd make their transfer policy look somewhat questionable if they were to dish out in the excess of £150m in January alone. FFP, where art thou?

They could afford Mahrez, and had plenty of time to come in before the last day of the window.

But they refused to meet our very reasonable valuation in a market that THEY have inflated, because if they spent any more they would have definitely broken FFP rules.

So to avoid them breaking FFP rules they've now managed to upset our star player and disrailed our season. If that's not an example of their financial might and greed causing problems for other clubs then I don't know what is.

UEFA had to deny that they were investigating them in the summer; I wonder how their investigation is going now?

57 pages for this joke of a thread?

A new low for Foxestalk! lol

Don't think it's a 'joke' but quite hilarious, interesting and strange at the same time.
