Don't think we learnt much tonight, just pleasing to be able to look forward to a quarter final!

thought Chilwell was good, as he often is when he's on the front foot.

Gray is a lightweight Schlupp.

Mahrez is another level. Clearly some bad blood between he and Vardy. Can't blame JV really, in fact I rather admire it.

we don't know how to play football without Vardy and must learn to. Not that I want him out the side obviously!

What happened? Muted goal celebration?

Their relationship is interesting because I don't think they have ever liked each other (though at the same time I don't think they dislike each other either), but in terms of effect on the pitch, their understanding is almost unbelievable. Had the second one been counted it would have been the same two players combining.

Watched the second half.

Felt we were good but not great. Passed the ball around but lacked a bit of cutting edge up front.

N'Didi rock solid once again. One of Grays better games too but wouldnt be difficult. Mahrez was good too. The melts booing him .Get a grip people.

Simpson and Morgan not at their best but after injuries to be expected. Chilwell though good on the ball a letdown.needs to add a bit of aggression to his game.

We needed that as morale has to have taken a battering the last fortnight or so.

Good Point on Vardy,He seems to be the only Player finding the net.

For A shoulder(Mahrez's Cross) ,Vardy was there for the 2nd.

Nacho has to learn to Go where it hurts, but not Take Others Space + Visa versa.

We need desperately one of our Young forwards,to get more in the scoring Sheet.

I do want City to Invest in another goal-scoring striker this Summer.

That does Not mean I dont want to see Nacho to be given, now the Rest of the season.

I still Vardy giving us the Next 2 seasons..

Was the second offside lovely move ?

We didn't really use the corners of the pitch very well kept our width around half way to stretch their 5 but didn't overlap into the spaces after that .

Could have easily had a couple first half and sorted it

Fuchs is better than Chilwell at present period.Morgan usual solid but slowish to get the ball moving forward.

Gray did himself a bit of good .Mahrez different class

Is it just me who think that the hard working Schlupp is better than Gray? Gray has his neat flicks and stepovers, but does be have any real end product? For me he almost tries too hard to do something special when 9 times out of 10 the simple option is the best.

Sure - we lost the Final in '69. But I saw City beat them 4-3 the year before in a replayed quarter-final at Filbert Street and they had much the same team the next year - so maybe there's a good omen there....somewhere.

If we do get through to Wembley and they're the opposition, which is highly likely, then it's going to be a tense afternoon. Let's hope they encounter one of Spurs, Chelsea and United in the semis - and succumb to a shock defeat. Or even better - Wigan do the dirty on them in a hard-fought 'local' derby.

I'd like to think we could beat them fair-and-square but it would be nice if we were relieved of the responsibility.

Really.. You think its unlikely they will be the opposition? I have a feeling its very likely. Dont get me wrong i know they wont prioritise this cup over the other 4? they are in ... But its still silverware. They will win the PL, i would imagine and to be winners of the FA cup in the same year is a nice accomplishment.

I am with you on the point i would love to see them knocked out, and if by lesser opposition it would make it sweeter. :D Just don't see it happening, even if they play their squad players they will still be a more focused & better side :(

Thought we were always in control of the game. They came with the intention of getting a replay and I know they play wing backs but this seemed very much like a flat back 5. Obviously that meant we were going to get most of the ball and they were going to be hard to break down. Created mainly half chances throughout and don't think we actually got out of second gear even if the performance didn't show that.

Banana skin avoided and into the next round hoping for a decent enough draw.

Was always going to be a non-spectacle against hardworking, but dour opposition.

We never really got out of second gear, didn't use up too much energy, didn't get any injuries (I believe), almost as if the team knew the goal would come sooner or later.

Routine, forgettable win, against very mediocre opposition - mission accomplished without too much fuss.

Looking forward to the draw tomorrow night - that's all that matters.

Was easy enough for us - doesn't matter who we are playing we will always give the opposition at least one golden chance to score and this week Schmeichel saved that chance for once.

Few of them only reiterated the point that we have very mediocre players getting in our 18 every week. I've said this a dozen times this season. If we're genuinely backing Puel we need to do a lot of business both ways in the summer.

However, nice to still be in the hat and let's hope for a lucky draw in the quarters.

what time where

17th Feb, at 8pm!

The quarter-final draw will be staged live on BT Sport, the BBC Sport website and Radio Five Live, following Manchester United’s fifth round tie at Huddersfield (5.30pm).

Here are those all important numbers for the other teams.

Michael Owen and Shay Given will pull out the balls.

Vardy, Gray, Chilwell very good.

Kasper was much better than last week but possibly the second best gk on display tonight. We really need someone who can control the box like their guy did. Corners into the yd box and we looked vulnerable their guy caught everyone.

Iborra did the usual looked great and then gave the ball away 3 times. Ndidi is some player.

Wish Amartey was playing instead of Simpson. what has he done to disappear so quickly?

We moved the ball too slowly and had a couple of players who killed the ball. Mahrez had a good game but dribbled for too long too often and really needs to consider a first time cross occasionally, he has the vision and the skill but doesn't do it.

Happy with the win. now let's hope we don't get Man City away in the next round. Hopefully a home game again.

Talk about naked bias!

I can't see Morgan or Simpson fitting in well with Puel's possession football. They're both excellent at what they do but Puel wants to do more. Simpson does seem to realise the change and adapt though.

The game wasn't amazing but it was good to see Mahrez back performing well esp with Vardy, Gray have a good game and Chilwell making some nice forward movement albeit showing no excellent defensive work.

Agree. However, neither Simpson nor Morgan should be playing for Leicester past this season.

Pleased with Gray, Mahrez, Ndidi, Maguire.

Kasper, Wes, Iborra and (eventually) Nacho were ok.

I love Simmo defensively, but he holds us back going forward. Opposition players know he is flaky on the ball, and it makes it difficult for us to attack down the right. It is no wonder Riyad doesn't pass as much as he should, because giving the ball to Simmo is a waste of good possession.

Well a win is a win I suppose but I've seen more entertaining varnish.

The match highlighted areas that clearly need improvement as many on here have alluded to. Overall though we move the ball far too slowly in what I believe they call the transistion phase. Iborra whilst he looks good on the ball is too slow for my liking. Both full back positions are an issue. Simpson defends well but time and time again last night he was the attacking outlet and though he tries that isn't his strength. Chillwell looks good going forward though his final ball is usually poor and defensively he's a liability.

Gray was typical Gray. I keep hearing the word potential; well he needs to start delivering on that potential for more than 10 minutes a game. I thought his best work last night was defensively covering for Chillwell but going forward he offered little and his corners were poor.

Iheanancho was disappointing once again. His first touch was poor and I thought his work rate wasn't great either. He and Vardy don't appear to have any real understanding of playing together.

Amazing to think that despite all the money thrown at the position we are going to have to look seriously at a new striker in the summer but the main position for me is that attacking central midfielder. One who can drop their shoulder and go past a man, someone who can make things happen from the centre of the pitch.

Our two best players on the night were Vardy and Mahrez. Vardy perhaps should have had more than one but his header back across the goal was top class. As for Mahrez, simply the best player on the pitch by a country mile. Some of his play was sublime. At times going forward it was like Mahrez vs Sheffield United. We should all just sit back and enjoy the next few matches because when he's gone we won't see such an effortlessly brilliant player in our shirt for a long long time.

Not the best performance or match I've ever seen, but job done and we can look forward to a quarter final- hopefully we get a good draw can build up a bit of form before it.

Thought Sheff United were poor, even for a championship side- nothing to lose against a team not playing particularly well, and they barely attacked all game. Surely their fans are disappointed with that, as they've had a lot of success playing a fearless brand of football under Wilder.

Some good performances from Vardy, Mahrez, Maguire, Iborra, Chilwell. Schmeichel made a good save and got to a couple of crosses when it mattered.

My MOTM was Ndidi (again). What a player he's going to be in 3 years.

I'm concerned about the lack of movement in the final third though. It's difficult to break down teams who park the bus, and even more so when we're not working the little space available. Iheanacho isn't a number 10- thought he did okay at times but he's Vardy's long term successor up top. I'm going to disagree with everyone saying Gray had a good game too- couple of good moments, but his movement really is staggeringly poor. Every time he has space to offer for a pass and get in behind the full-back, he seems to drift inside and find his marker. Baffling.

Anyway, we won and that's all that matters in he cup. Here's hoping for a winnable draw next round!

Really?  Did you see how often chilwell gave the ball away under no pressure. He’s a liability and a better team would have had him all over the place all night. Gray was gray which amounts to very little these days.

Agree on Simpson. Him and Morgan as half a back four just slows us down too much as neither like moving the ball forward

I think you and many others enter matches with preconceived ideas and are blind to what actually happens.

Chilwell was exceedingly good going forward creating possibilities and keeping the ball moving - the biggest problem with our attack yesterday was the slowing down of the ball. Defensively he covered very well, worked hard and did a good job. Yes he was beaten a couple of times, yes he lost the ball but there isn't a player in the world who doesn't. Some supporters are far too critical of defenders, they make far less mistakes than midfielders or attackers but when they do it is far more critical. I watched Real PSG the other night and the "world class" right wing backs on view made a hatful of poor plays. If you want the perfect player then create your own fantasy player on some video game that you play - set him at 100 skill for everything. And then of course we get to alternatives. The alternative is Fuchs. Fuchs has been a top international defender during his career but now he's a great long throw specialist and decent passer of the ball with a calm experienced head on his shoulders. Sadly he has lost most of his legs and is either skinned in defence or he jumps into tackles, often not successfully. Chilwell is 21 and we are so lucky to have him. He still has plenty of time to improve as he experiences the same situations over and over again.

Now Gray. Last night he was as good or better than Mahrez. He cut through the defence and caused so many problems. He was far better than his last few appearances which have been down. Again he is 21 and learning. Mahrez is at the height of his game, though still learning and can still improve by seeing situations more and more. Gray has incredible close skills - equivalent to Mahrez - what he lacks is the experience of Mahrez and the precision of pass that Mahrez has. I think you have forgotten Mahrez and Knockaert when they first arrived at Leicester, compared to Gray now, they were poor. Now possibly Gray won't kick on as Mahrez did but I don't see why he won't. His biggest problem other than experience could be intelligence but then again Mahrez isn't that intelligent either.

Along with Ndidi and Maguire and Iheanacho and Diabaté (and Amartey) we have some incredible young talents and yet there is a large proportion of supporters who just want to destroy our young growing talent.
