Pretty shoddy performance, especially given that was a bit of a makeshift Sheff United team.

 

Hopefully we keep getting lucky with the FA Cup draws.

 

Highlights the need to heavily invest in the summer and bring in more players capable of actually playing football to a high level.

 

Mahrez was sublime.

Vardy, Gray, Chilwell very good.

 

Kasper was much better than last week but possibly the second best gk on display tonight. We really need someone who can control the box like their guy did. Corners into the yd box and we looked vulnerable their guy caught everyone.

 

Iborra did the usual looked great and then gave the ball away 3 times. Ndidi is some player. 

 

Wish Amartey was playing instead of Simpson. what has he done to disappear so quickly?

 

We moved the ball too slowly and had a couple of players who killed the ball. Mahrez had a good game but dribbled for too long too often and really needs to consider a first time cross occasionally, he has the vision and the skill but doesn't do it. 

 

Happy with the win. now let's hope we don't get Man City away in the next round. Hopefully a home game again.

Job done, nothing special, should've been more, our final ball was absolute wack at times.

 

Maguire, Gray and Mahrez our top performers in my IMO.

 

Chilwell was so hit and miss, think he's better suited as a winger.

This is what happens when teams sit back against an above average team who struggle to break others down. We got the job done as we never stopped trying to find a break through. We badly need full backs who can overlap and actually have some sort of footballing brain in the final third. Simpson appears to play with a withered foot when he's in any danger of providing a cross or pass in a telling area.

 

Mahrez was spot on again, cherish these last 10-15 games.

I think that performance was typical of what we are, an average mid-table premier league team, which is not the end of the world all things considering. Once again our two stand-out players save the day and it will be a sad day when Riyad goes this summer as despite his antics, that boy sure can play. It was a top-draw finish from Vardy.

 

Can't see us going any further in the cup unless we get a favourable draw, but hey more than any other club in the country, we know that you should dare to dream. But quite simply I just think we are too far away from the teams above us in terms of overall quality.

 

I think I can see why Southampton fans turned on Puel because play for most of the game was very lethargic and the Blades weren't really massively tested. But, this is a work in progress and I hope we can improve in time with this style. We need some better techincal players to pull it off and we only really had one of those on show tonight, but luckily we do have some quality players that are the difference between a frustrating draw and a professional "job's done" style of performance.

 

One game away from Wembley and two away from the final! And even if we don't go any further, a 7th place finish (assuming we pip Burnley and Everton to it) and reaching the quarter finals in both cups is on paper a super solid season.

Oh dear am i right in thinking last time we got to the final of the FA cup (and i know we still have the quarter finals to go too) we played and lost to Manchester city, and that was about 50 years ago ?
