Benitez

If he went down with Newcastle why would he leave them now? Why would he leave them for us when he’d likely have better offers?

100% crisis talks at the club when team travel back from Burnley.

The owner has issued a meeting with Claude puel and tbh best news I've heard in a long time.

However don't think he will be gone till end of the season

If true, then it is needed! Puel needs to be aware that he can't just drift until the end of the season.

He needs to be making changes now, Dropping some of the "old guard" and getting the team fired up.

Dragovic needs to come in, as well as Amartey for Simpson. We just need to see that he is prepared to make changes and at least try to sort us out.

The owners will undoubtedly be reminded of why he lost his job at Southampton and whether history is repeating itself.

We need a reaction next week, not only from the players, but also from the manager. Changes needed to the back 4.

Not sure what managers would come here to be honest. But if we could get Brendan Rodgers, then I hope that we do. I wanted him as manager in summer 2015 (even though he was still at Liverpool), and I wanted him as manager in summer 2017.

If we could somehow persuade Rafa, then sure, I'd take him too instead of Puel.

This straw man argument is always put up. We're in the top 20 richest clubs in the world. Heaver help any other clubs below our status if that ain't enough of a carrot.

Nigel Pearson

Rafa Benitez

Arsen Wenger

Sean Dyche

Antonio Conte

Diego Simeone

Can we get any of these guys? Next season it is unlikely that we will have Mahrez

We are currently in relegation form but have amassed enough points this season to not go down. I am just NOT confident for next season.

NP knows the club and built a great team with a great spirit.

RB knows how to Manage at the top level and if he had money to spend then the sky s the limit

AWhas done it consistently with Arsenal and not spent that silly amounts (but can we get him, only if Arsenal either sack him or he leaves)

SD will be in Europe next season so is unlikely to leave

AC (Will he come) Maybe if Chelsea sack him which they most likely will

DS (Will he leave Athletico to come to the Premiership)

David Wagner would be worth a shot. High intensity style would suit our team. Huddersfield might be struggling but they were tipped for relegation to league one when he took over so would say he’s over achieved just a bit!

If we end up sacking Puel, then are we going to at least start questioning the players and whoever is responsible for appointing and sacking managers?

So seriously, i'm not wumming, this is a genuine question because whenever i'm picking people up on it i'm getting no response and i'm not doing it to wind people up, I genuinely want to have a discussion about it.

This "player power" people speak of which I don't deny, however I can sympathise with them to an extent.

I can't speak for fact but I can imagine it's very boring and depressing at the moment under him.

Under Ranieri, he did alot of damage to himself with all the upheaval he caused in his 2nd season.

Shakespeare - I don't think anyone (until now when it suits their argument) claimed "player power" or that they weren't playing for him, he was simply out of his depth and had a tough start, we were only going one way under him and something had to give.

Anyway, i'm going off track abit, so this "player power", how does that work when Puel is consistanly picking said players who are 'running the changing room'?

Does he not have the bollocks to drop them?

You could argue dropping them could cause more aggro for him but it's clearly not working as it is so whack em' out, show some discipline, show them who's boss and let them know in no uncertain terms that their time is numbered.

IF this "player power" or unrest within the squad does exist or it's simply a case of player's not playing for him, he's letting them, he's allowing it and letting them 'win'.

I accept he doesn't have many options in positions because he (And the managers that have been before him) have been failed by the recruitment team but he does have options, not showing any sign of using them though.

As for question who appoints and sacks managers, I believe Rudkin has a hand in it (along with others may I add) that says alot.

He was the one that recommended Puel to the Thais.

Wagner's team do not play with high intensity. Ive watched them a lot this season and they are the stereotypical sit deep and try and nick something team. They really struggle for goals too.

I dont know whether he would translate his ideas better with better players, and could well do, but im not convinced he would be an improvement.

Ok that’s good to know. Did they switch style after losing a lot though? Earlier in the season they played Man United off the park but know the same approach led to them being thrashed at home.

Marco Silva I think is good though had a reputation of being a mercenary after that Everton debacle.

Wagner's Huddersfield team are probably the worst team in the league man for man, so their sit deep and try and stay in games is the only way realistically to compete in a lot of games, so i dont hold this against him at all.

It would be interesting to see whether he could manage us successfully, but i think the big issue for me is SOMEONE must be given TIME. If it started slowly for Wagner, we would be in the same position as we are now.

Silva is a manager i rate but i feel like he wouldnt be particularly interested in long term building, more interested only in the stepping stone potential.
