I'm not really arsed about the whole thing but I reckon a fair few of the people clamouring for him to be sacked would think it was really unfair if they'd been sacked for the same thing. I'd imagine the the rebuttal would be "Well I'd never spit on someone" but any other unsavoury behaviour could be used in its place, he's a cünt, the dad is a cünt and this'll blow over. A suspension is about right.

It depends on your position in the company and if your actions damage the company. Carragher is one of the faces of Sky sports and was on his way back from Sky duty. The incident related to his job and as such directly impacts it. If I got caught on camera road raging or spitting nobody at work would see it because I’m not high profile and if they did it would make very little impact as my name is not synonymous with that brand. Carragher is paid a lot to carry that burden of being a public figure and should act accordingly.

I honestly can't see any reason why spitting on somebody just for taking the piss out of your team can be seen as anything other than disgusting

I mean who does that, I've never seen anybody spat on at the football before, it's probably even worse than punching somebody

So did he manage to hit this girl that he was aiming at? Mad that he only did it at her considering it was her dad that seems to have been the one winding him up.

Spitting is a horrible response to be honest, though you imagine he probably spits between 50-100 times a day though the amount of phlegm he produces.

What a role model that dad is though. Any body that decides to film something on their phone to show on their little twitter page, just for the sake of being controversial should be given a mandatory 30 day prison sentence. I absolutely detest those kinds of people.

Pretty solid response from sky, take him out the firing line until the next thing happens and everybody is focusing their anger and rage at the latest social media scandal.

I think it's being blown out of proportion regarding gobbing on the guys daughter as i don't think he saw her and was just aiming at the car and she just copped a mouthful

Spitting is disgusting, cowardly and pathetic...

... but I’d rather be spat at than punched, I would think less of the person doing the spitting, but at least I wouldn’t get a broken nose.

What cvnts,  both him and the "father". Unacceptable behavior by two "grown" men. The only one whose "suffered" is the daughter.

I dont care if they fire jamie or not. I don't think they will given the suspension. I mean its a vile thing to do to someone. He wasnt trying to spit on the daughter  but actions always  have consequences.

If that were my company jamie wouldnt be presenting  again and being the face of things so to speak.   The father also wouldn't be working for me. No tw@t policy.

I think he needs help to deal with his issues and driving problems. The same goes for the father who endangered his daughters life whilst driving.

All that ghastly bacteria going out of his mouth onto someone else they don't know.

But the bacteria is probably glad it's out of a dim scouser's mouth, but sad to see it land on an innocent person imo.

Quite enjoying morons like Danny Murphy who no doubt say players spitting at each other is the worst thing you can do and a broken leg is better defending him by saying he does charity work.

Haha eurgh that made me feel a bit sick!

Nice wad of salty phlegm in the mouth. Her dad probably told her to try and keep it so they can sell it on ebay.

Only a scouser would buy that.

It's disgusting and downright stupid but I'm really not a fan of this constant clamour for people to lose their jobs for a moment of madness.

Have never understood those who say they'd prefer to be punched/headbutted/elbowed/subject to a leg breaking challenge etc.

He has to go.

If Sky keep him on, they will be accepting the "unacceptable". Basically condoning the behaviour no matter how they wrap it up.

Personally don't rate him as a pundit. Comes over to me as arrogant and condescending to the fans.

There must be better out there.

annoys me every time anyone says that. not a chance anyone in their right mind would ever be faced with two options, a punch to the grid from tyson fury or a bit of spit on the cheek from anyone.

one would leave you about brain damaged, the other would be a bit of a shock and quite disgusting but shit happens.

Weirdest thing about the whole scenario, aside from how quick Carra was to go fully overboard in the face of some mild taunting, is that when he gobs all over the girl her dad doesn't even seem all that upset by the turn of events in fact he sounds pretty pleased about it.

Yeah, it's really weird right? Making sure to repeat Jamie Carragher's name a few times on video as well. Almost as if he wanted something like this to happen...

I know the Dad is a right arse, but come on, this wasn’t massive taunting.

Most of what we have seen Carragher didn’t, all he got to see was the bloke saying 2-1 and having a giggle.

Its all over the press, you can’t let kids see this and think you can get away with it, for me he has to go.

I don’t like these things hitting the press, but it’s not words, it’s spitting in a youngsters face, for very mild provocation.

He needs to be gone in my opinion, you can’t do that and expect to still be on TV.
