Never heard of this Roberts sounds crap but one thing is for sure all the people who said mahrez is lazy get rid etc will all see his true worth when he leaves. The creativity and flair will be sucked from this side and we will see the true pragmatic depths of puels reign next season. This is the dawn of a painfully scripted new order under Claude Dull.

No idea how he is still in job

Agree re Claude.

Pep will need to change Mahrez or he won’t pick him; he’s far too lazy for that system.

£50m plus Roberts is about right in my opinion. I agree that if you look at a few other fees it’s a little lower than some but we come out of this looking pretty poor if we don’t let him go to a bid like that.

Why is Roberts so important?

He is not going to replace what Mahrez does? Also we cant base it on being good in the scottish prem as its like playing Fleetwood week after week.? id rather have the money and get as much as a like for like replacement as possible.. obviously that difficult but we must try.

I think there ought to be a number of add on's involved, another £10m if they retain the PL and another £10m if they win the Champions League

He's gonna go, but they need to pay the money.

On the basis that Van Dijk was £70m, Mahrez is worth £1.4bn.

And no, I don't want Patrick Roberts.

WHAT IN GODS EARTH MAKES ROBERTS WORTH £15-20m?

They paid £12m for him a few years ago, suppose he's proven to be worth that in this market but it's a gamble really.

To be honest I kind of think that £50m will be total with add ons.

Anyone know if Patrick Roberts has been injured this season, he’s only made 12 appearances.

True this.

Mahrez is better than Hazard (as per stats over last three seasons), Hazard valued at £100m+, Mahrez valued at £50m. Go figure. Must be because he plays for plucky little Leicester.

Roberts only played 12 games for Celtic last season due to injury but the season before he scored 11 with 19 assists (albeit at Sunday league level!).

Would be a good signing for us but only £50m for Mahrez is pretty criminal in this day and age.

I still can't get over him going for less than van Dijk.

Van Dijk had 5 years left on the 6 year contract he signed at the end of 2015/16 season.

The thing is we will use the 50m to 'Replace' Riyad. The player buys us added time to find the right solution though and can be used in a variety of positions.

If Roberts can get his hamstring sorted I'd be backing this move. Liability when it comes to injuries though. Missed half (or more) of this season because of it.

I know he's a mardy douche sometimes but I'll miss him so much. Oh well, at least he's not going to freaking ARSE.

Roberts isn't quite a like-for-like replacement I don't think....

Not a good sign if someone as young as he is has a dodgy hamstring.
