Should Wes continue as captain next season or should we replace him?

Isn't the current captaincy hierarchy Wes <--- Kasper <--- Vardy?

 

I'd prefer Maguire personally. Most obvious choice to try and get him to stay for a few years.

 

Vardy defines us in so many ways so it would be good to see him made captain too - it just depends how many years he's got left in him.

Morgan can stay as club captain but he shouldn’t be starting games anymore. Maguire or Vardy should bw captain on match days

Vardy's a bit hot headed at likes to disagree with linos and referees on certain calls. I'd rather someone a little more collected on the pitch be captain. So I've gone with Maguire.

Maguire. Long term choice and personally I always prefer one of the back line to take the captaincy because they can see the pitch infront of them.

I always personally preferred defenders or midfielders to be captain. Not a fan of goal keepers or strikers being captain. Therefore I've gone for Maguire.

I've opted for Maguire, I don't think Wes has it anynore. If you'd asked this pre-season I wouldn't have hesitated to say Kasper, but he's been the epicentre of a sh1t-storm this season.

Maguire for me. Just let Vardy do what he does best. I think Maguire for two reasons, firstly I just don't think strikers make great captains (in my head the captain should have everything in front of him, not behind him) and secondly I think Harry has the better temperament. Wouldn't want Jamie to lose the edge he's got which he might have to curb if he was captain.

Wes Morgan should remain club captain, absolutely no doubt about that.

 

However, he shouldn't be playing every week.

If you watch the players during the game, Vicente Iborra is the most natural leader we have and does more talking than anyone.

Voted for Harry.  We'll need an ever-present and I think Harry is the man for this for a long time (as long as we can hold on to him).  I'm not a fan of having a striker or goalie as captain.

We already know Vardy is a huge figurehead for the club and in the dressing room.

And while I'd agree with Morgan in the role of club captain as I don't even want to see him on the bench it wouldn't surprise me if he left.

Usually, it's rather rare to give the captaincy to a striker.

 

Vardy would make for a very good vice-captain, though.

Other than that, we're looking at saying goodbye to a couple of more senior players this summer, so there's less options to give the armband to an older/more experienced member of the squad.

 

If Schmeichel should stay, then it's him. That also means he has to deliver/do better than this past season. Maybe the captaincy could act as an incentive?

Would prefer the captain to be a defender.

 

Vardy our most influential player but you'd need him to be focused on making the runs, tearing into defenders close to the touch line, creating chances, scoring. Being captain runs the risk of taking from what he does best. Besides imagine him trying to reason with someone like Moss after West Ham 2016.

 

Maguire would be a far more stable player and much more adept at dealing with officials. Should he feature at the world cup and excel he would also be a great figure for senior and youth environments to aspire to. That's assuming he'll be with us next year!

I do prefer defenders or central midfielders as captains but I've gone for Vardy, I just think its a reward for what he's given us over the years. I don't think the role of captain is limited to one person anyway.
