I have a really good feeling about the upcoming season... we have a strong defence, a good midfield, and a strong attack.. not to mention a really good mix of upcoming youth, and experienced players

i feel our team is much stronger now.. then when we won the prem.

Need to shift some of the dead wood and bring in a bit more quality going forward, but our squad is taking shape nicely- should hopefully see us cement our place as a top flight side in the long term.

Our very best expectations can be finishing 7th..

But think we'll be mid table again.

Think Puel will be gone by christmas!

I hope I'm wrong but I think we'll struggle. With Mahrez going we will lack a lot of creativity going foward and also the goals he scores. Last season only him and vardy scored regualar. We definately need to get off to a decent start. Still not convinced by our defence or midfield.

As above, definitely need to find some creativity once the sweet prince has gone.

If we can find someone to do that, then the rest of the side is looking stronger than last season and  will hopefully improve our final position.

Agree with the midfield comment!

Silva far too lightweight.

Far too reliant upon Ndidi,  He gets injured and we're ****ed!

I hope you're right & yes our team is probably stronger than 2015-16 but I have the feeling that the togetherness of the title winning team will not be repeated under Puel.

Really ? Without a player arguably the best in the world in his position and utterly irreplaceable  (N'golo)

Mildly taking the mick because you like to overuse the exclamation mark is NOT the same as 'having an agenda' against you Chapero82. Calm ye.

Realistic prediction: 8th

Bold prediction: 5th

Without wanting to sound arrogant,

we would need to be seriously bad to be involved in a relegation battle this season.

I'm feeling pretty optimistic about the new season. I'm happy to see that we've strengthened the three weakest areas of the team as soon as we could.

Mahrez is a great player who will be difficult to replace, but I don't think it will be as hard as some people think. Yes, he can be world class on his day, but I do think he's failed to live up to his own standards since the title win. Just having a player whose heart is clearly in it and who doesn't throw his toys out the pram every transfer window would be a nice change.

I get that people are concerned about losing his creativity, but signing just one player in his position isn't the only way of getting it back. If we can make improvements to a few positions, then the sum of those parts could equal or even exceed what we had. If we have better full backs, and a better CM and no.10, then we're not so reliant on one player to create chances.

If we could land a winger, a CM to play alongside Ndidi, a LB to replace Fuchs, and maybe another centre-half, then I think we're pretty much set.

I'm looking forward to seeing whether having a few of his own players makes much difference to Puel's results. Hopefully, it does.

I can't get excited about the new signing until I've seen them. We've had plenty of exciting signings in the past that have turned out duds.

I agree the team is stronger than last year, but it maybe best to wait until the end of the transfer window.

Stronger that the title season, I have one word that disagrees with that.........KANTE!

I have a few more:

Likely losing Mahrez.  Huth and Drinkwater playing out of their skins and Vardy, Morgan etc three years younger.

We are not stronger than the title winning team and we didn't win the league by accident but that cannot be repeated.  I like the new signings, especially Maddison and we have addressed the weaknesses of last year.  I reckon 8th.

Would still like to see 2 maybe 3 players incoming but super excited, if we can replace Riyad with someone young with plenty of potential i'd love that, im really happy Puel is going for younger players so we can actually develop the side and see gradual improvement, Maguire, Ricardo, Ndidi, Chilwell, Gray, Kelechi, Hamza, add 1-2 more to that and we have a very solid young base to start pushing on.

I’m disquieted by two things.

- Mahrez’ production has not been replaced.  His goals and assists secured many points.  Will talented but unproven attackers in concert, create Premier League end product?

- Puel’s communications issues may be worsened with his new assistant, who has never coached nor played in England.

Concerned that things will not gel in the early part of the season, then back on the hamster wheel we go?

Given the youth of talent being recruited, and the training ground, I have a much better feeling about the medium term outlook.

I’m an optimistic person so always like to believe in my team! One year especially it paid off quite nicely lol.

I think we’ll learn a lot about our chances in preseason and the first 5 games. Puel was lucky to keep his job given how we tailed off but there were promising signs and he didn’t have his own signings or a preseason to get his ideas across. Now he has both so there’s definitely a chance things will click and we’ll have a good team and season.

Losing Mahrez is the biggie as he’s our most creative player and our only other goal threat to Vardy. So I feel how we handle that will define our season, but it can be solved in many ways and you’d hope that not only does his replacement do a decent job but that some of our other players step up to the plate. Nacho, Diabate and Maddison - it’s your time to shine!

I like all our signings so far so am quietly confident. Let’s see what happens!
