When - after the transfer window closes - the likes of Musa, Amartey, King, Ulloa and Slimani are still on the club's books.

We’ve just signed our 4th player and with the Mahrez sale we’ve broken even. There’s 3 weeks to go and at least 3 other clubs haven’t even signed anyone yet. 3 more clubs have only made one signing, and Everton are about to blow £50m on Richarlison.

Calm the **** down.

Spot on. The forum would be in meltdown if we spent £50m on Richarlison....makes Mahrez look a steal mind.....I honestly believe Chilwell N’ Didi, Nacho, Diabate, Maddison, Maguire, Gray, Hamza will be better this season...year older, more games....sure we’ll miss Mahrez, but I am optimistic with what we have....

Sacking Puel and Allardyce in the space of a year doesn’t tie in with what I read last week about the owners sticking with Puel as they don’t want to be seen as always sacking managers.

Just telling myself this as I can’t cope with Allardyce

So, the window end is fast approaching and any links we have to any quality are tenuous at best. Links we did have seem to be dead ends and players seem to be going elsewhere. The bigger names that we should be targeting just don't seem to be materialising.

We've made some solid signings so far, but none the calibre required if we want to be aiming for the top 6.

Mahrez has gone and there isn't even a hint of a replacement. I could never forgive not having a plan in place, given we've know over the last 18 months or so that he'd be going.

Is it panic stations yet? Will we be scrambling around on deadline day for loan deals etc again?

ITKs have all gone quiet.

What's happening? How's everyone feeling? What are our prospects, in reality, for the season ahead?

Just to put it in to context based on last season's table Everton and Burnley are our main rivals and neither have those have brought a single new player yet.

Where as Leicester on the other hand have made on paper 3 brilliant signings. With Pereria and Evans both improving drastically the first 11. If you had asked any reasonable Leicester fan before pre season started to write down their top 5 realistic transfer targets then Madison and Evans would have been on most people's list and we got them plus a lighting quick, young, highly rated attacking right back. What's not to like?

Am I panicking? Absolutely not we have done great business so far and still plenty of time for 1 or 2 more players. To be honest I'm more worried about the lack of outgoings need to start trimming down the squad we got about 7 or 8 players too many in the first team squad.

Anyone with a brain could see Puel is a disaster waiting to happen. He replaced Sadio Mane with Nathan Redmond at Southampton ffs that you are negatively biased and ready to pull anything out of your bottom to have Puel out.

We won the league in 2016.  It was never going to happen.  It could be argued that we now have a  a better squad (but we are without Kante,  our greatest ever player), it could be argued that Puel requires the guillotine.   We won the league in 2016.  Roll on 2018-19

We have addressed many problems.

We needed a ball playing good CB. Maguire in.

We needed a CAM. Maddison in.

We needed competition for Simpson. Preferably an attacking RB. Peirera in.

Hamer out. Ward in.

Evans in.

Mahrez sold against our will. Schmeichel likely to follow suit.

Last season people banged on about several players needing to be replaced. Well, we have taken steps to do that by signing players in those exact positions.

The negatives are we still have immovable dead wood at the club.

We have had a decent window..Some of you would panic if the weatherman got the weather forecast wrong.

Calm down lad! We've fixed the number 10 problem with the hugely talented Maddison. We've fixed the Wes problem with Evans. We've fixed the Simmo problem with Pereira.

On the downside we've lost the majestic Mahrez but then we expected that. I'm sure there's a little more to come both in and out but we're okay, don't panic.

Yesterday, probably. When our previously sensible summer dealings stopped making sense.

3 good signings (on paper). An expensive Hamer replacement. 1 major, major outgoing that is very unlikely to be replaced adequately. Rumours swirling about more outgoings, but not about the players we want to sell.

Very little info leaking from the club. Ward said in his interview that we've been sorting the deal for a couple days, but the very first hint of news only broke yesterday, after it was basically done. A deal that makes little sense, that no one was expecting. Will we suddenly announce the sale of Maguire and the purchase of Townsend tomorrow? It's that uncertainty creating a general sense of unease.

Apologies if anyone made any reasonable sense after the 1st page.  (Stopped reading after that.)

But seriously! What a thread..ffs, after way to many drinks im not even going to attempt anything reasonable. BUT it seems like some of you guys have wrote off the season before its even started.

Just logged on and boom off again. I am actually looking forward to the new season, the guys we have brought in are filling gaps we needed and all i hear is blah blah blah Puel out. I didnt think i would be bothered with everyone els's opinion, but in the light of day, im actually getting pissed off (maybe the alcohol) but give the guy a break. He will have his pre-season, he has brought in his players... JUDGE after at least the first few games ffs.

Don't think he had any say in it. Southampton clearly had a sell their best players policy and replace with academy or cheap ones before he even got there.

This forum was 90% in favour of sacking puel but a couple of lucky games later and with a change in wind direction our brainless brand of hopeless optimism has resurfaced. Truly amazing. Gone by christmas

We've got until the end of August for any sales going out of the PL, which most of those (and other 'deadwood') probably would be. Loads of time.

Yes that's right let's tell the world who were after so the usual suspects join in the chase.

We've strengthened pretty much everywhere on the pitch we needed to.

Mantra has gone as expected, I honestly thought we would have someone lined up to come in straight away but apparently not.

Our net spend this window is negative, there's more to come.

Nothing to do with us wanting to succeed and have a good season?

Or are too many dying to say ‘I told you Puel was rubbish’

Became apparent in the past two weeks, some would prefer us to fail validating their own opinion
