Another huge failure for Pep and Manchester City in the Champions League.  No wonder their fans can't stand it.

Shows you can't buy success...!!! Come on Spurs or L'pool

This is ridiculous; like we could have an impartial player on there otherwise it's literally just a Liverpool love in

Is that Michael Owen in the middle?

If so, he's aged quite a bit..

At least we had quality insight and impartiality from the co-commentator.

That VAR penalty miss has come back to bite Man City ..

No wonder they aren't keen on it !

Ofcouse City would be out of theFA cup had VAR been used .

Swings and roundabouts I guess ?

Robbie Fowler now looks like a caricature of Robbie Fowler.

Spurs have just spent nearly a billion on their new stadium and Liverpool have a net spend of £130 million this season on transfers!  They aren't exactly Cardiff City in terms of spending!

Been absolutely dreading a Liverpool v Tottenham final ever since they both sneaked through the groups and it's going to happen isn't it :(

I do think Tottenham got quite lucky tonight but shit happens. They were bound to have one of these fall their way. Just had to be tonight rather than that Liverpool game didn't it?

The biggest farce is the Llorente goal and the lack of angles the referee looked from. The one that we all saw on BT numerous times was inconclusive, you couldn't actually tell the ball hit his arm, you were guessing. The angle that is posted above proves it did in-fact hit his arm - why was the referee not privvy to this?

Do agree with the point about VAR being a slippery slope too. The ultimate highs and euphoria of football is scoring a goal. You're going to lose a lot of that now and no matter what, nobody will convince me that celebrating again after initially celebrating with doubt is anything close to the euphoria that you get from goals now. It's a huge change to the sport and a massive gamble.

You've got to question Man City. They're routinely poor in Europe, two years in a row they've gone out to a team they will finish comfortably ahead of in the league and they frequently seem to give themselves far too much to do. If it was a League Cup semi final against Tottenham I'd be confident of them progressing but I always had a doubt in this.

An extraordinary game of football though. Game of the season.

Can see why the lino doesnt wave his flag just yet , if its doesnt deflect off Bernardo then he's stopped play no for no reason.

In real time I assumed its was directly through from the Spurs player as I was surprised Aguero wasnt flagged the first time and sadly though the goal was good.

Tough call but the lino probably thought its better to let play continue and check after than flag when it wasnt clear if the ball was from a Man City or Spurs player.

If you watch even the replays of Llorrente's goal shown on BT you can clearly see his arm, which he was holding in front of his body, suddenly swing back when the ball hits it. Rio Ferdinand mentioned you could see his skin move, which was funny, but also due to the same impact with the ball.

Unbelievable game. VAR is just part of the drama for the audience. But man you'd be gutted if you were celebrating a winner like that only to have the rug pulled from under you a minute later.

As long as Spurs don't win it I'll be happy.

next season that goal would be disallowed as any contact between arm and ball which contributes directly to a goal will be considered handball. this season it still has to be deliberate and the flick of the ball across the strikers arm before it strikes his hip is not handball. He isn’t making his body larger and he doesn’t move his arm towards the ball. He doesn’t affect the direction of travel. Perhaps the reason that the ref wasn’t shown that angle which showed the ball flickeing off his arm was because it wasn’t considered relevant. What was relevant was what part of his body directed the ball into the net. It wasn’t his arm.
