Is there a reason we haven't seen Sam Hughes this pre-season? He seemed to be the stand out player in the U23's last year.

Can only presume him and Thomas are going out on loan .

Been a decent watch from us but does look like scoring goals is going to be an issue. These successions of sitters going begging we've seen before.

I've got one word for you:

Jamie.  Vardy.  X

Our approach play has been really good, only negative is that we haven't really troubled valencias goal.

Agreed but Nacho, Albrighton, Vardy, Maddison all off the pitch.

The general play has been great and we should have scored this half from our chances.

Our wings are god awful. Albrighton in particular hurts us far more than people realize. He is a drag on the attack, almost wholly one-note with his crosses and backwards passing. He doesn't look like he fuchs up much bc he is ridiculously conservative -- he doesn't require much in the way of defense, and it is easy to sag off him bc he isn't a threat to attack, almost inviting us to pass to him bc he is so often left available. If he starts, we are going to struggle to score goals, we absolutely need competent, balanced attacking players on the wings.

I assume we will tend to start Gray, which is worrisome enough, but we need to find an experienced wing who can contribute more to the attack before the transfer window closes. We have other needs, an experienced MF playmaker, another CB, but nothing will improve this side more than replacing Albrighton with someone who demands the defense account for him.

Johnson is like 15 and 3 times the size of me. Absolute unit.

I like the 'Absolute Unit' description

When I first saw it I thought it said something else. So used to seeing a very similar wording used to describe some of his other team mates ;)

Do we assume the absence of King, Musa, Ulloa and Slimani means they're all on their way?

I think we can take it as a "find another club".... maybe even Simpson.

I actually stood next to him last week and he is massive.   I wish we would give him a fair crack at CB.

This is the longest post in a match thread since the great "50 reasons Andy King is God"  posts by Thracian in 2009.

Diabate is that guy who runs rings around everyone in the playground but stick him in the school team for a match and he's absolute shite.

If he was at my school he'd be sent home to sort out his hair

Nope. Disagree.

MA is limited, but reliable - and unfortunately still offers more than Gray or  Diabate.
