Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 4 August 2018 Popular Post Share Posted 4 August 2018 (edited) On fire in preseason, 4 goals in 3 games! His all round game has improved immeasurably. Those signs of improvement at the end of last season look like they've continued into preseason and hopefully into the season proper. Looking much more like a 25M player now and a clinical finisher. Tuna Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 He'll be going into the season full of confidence and in form too, big season for him and I expect him to take his chance.
HankMarvin Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 Think the talent has always been there, its just the coincidence from feeling like the main striker
Webbo Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 It means we don't have to rush Vardy back, which is a bonus.
lgfualol Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 Need to find a way of playing him and Vardy.
Shane Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 Just now, lgfualol said: Need to find a way of playing him and Vardy. True but in a 2 striker system, Nacho will always need to drop back, to help link the play. He’s better leading the line. Unfortunately until Vardy starts to decline, nachoman will always be 2nd choice.
foxfanazer Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 Becoming the player I thought we’d signed. Proper finisher although should’ve got a hat trick today

With the (extremely positive) addition of Maddison, it's made that task all the more harder.
Lesterlad Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 I can imagine the meltdown on FT if Nacho is main striker and vardy is on the bench
StanSP Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 enjoyed his performances since returning from Russia. Looks proper fired up and on the ball. His header today shows he's in form and got confidence to try things like that. Doesn't look like he needs any more games for pre-season, either. He's getting in the right places to get on the end of crosses or chances and today was proof. Just hope he doesn't get injured between now and Friday!

Both thrive playing up front, I don't see how we can integrate Vardy when Iheanacho is on the pitch and vice versa. I guess you could try placing Iheanacho just behind Vardy, that has worked before. But with that 4-2-3-1 we've used so far, only one place for a striker at a time.

lgfualol Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 Vardy is almost never subbed off. Hard to see when Nacho will get chances.
OhYesNdidi Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 If Iheanacho starts the season well, Vardy will have to wait.
HankMarvin Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 nacho offers something different, as much as I love vardy he makes us a bit one dimensional
Wdywd Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 Thought the two of them started to play better together towards the end of last year tbh.
Fox92 Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 I'll be disappointed if Vardy comes straight back and Iheanacho has to drop deeper. No coincidence he's playing upfront and scoring.
foxfanazer Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 Drop our 20 goal a season striker. Good idea lads

Let’s not act as though Vardy has no right to walk back into this team. Nacho will be the man, but right now it’s Vardy.
That_Dude Posted 4 August 2018 Share Posted 4 August 2018 4-4-2 diamond is the only way to have him, Vardy and Maddison playing at the same time without being out of position. There's also the 3-5-2 (lol).
StriderHiryu Posted 4 August 2018 Author Share Posted 4 August 2018 Nacho and Vardy were linking well at the end of last season. I’m not sure we’ll do it every game but I’m sure you can get Maddison, Vardy and Nacho all in the same team without losing our shape. Probably more for teams that park the bus than the top 6 but it’s a potential option.

Slimani & Ulloa will surely be leaving, which means there will be no back up for Vardy/Iheanacho bar Shinji. Edited 4 August 2018 by Shane
