I wonder if he's been training with the squad while he's been waiting, or if was allowed to. Maybe we'll see him in the u23s for some match fitness.

Wait a minute... does that mean we navigated a transfer window signing players for all positions we needed, shipped out some of the older / non performing ones and didn’t **** anything up?

I call that impressive progress!!!

That kinda depends on how well Ghezzal fills the RW spot vacated by Mahrez. Personally I'd have preferred a bit more proven quality there but time will tell I guess.

Just tried to respectfully pronounce the name.  I'm off to A and E with a severe case of knotted tongue.

I imagine there will evolve a somewhat anglicised version.  This puts in mind the pronunciation of Sebastian Coates and James Rodriguez.

Caglar Soyuncu sponsored by Schwarzwaldmilch? Really?? Come on people. That is not possible and he does not exist.

If we'd have got Lunin in instead of Ward and Malcolm or Leon Bailey in instead of Ghezzal it would be just about perfect for incomings.

It would have been great to get a fee for Slimani and move on King, Simpson, Benalouane and possibly Morgan right at the end of August if the other CB's have settled it would be perfect. Overall we've had a good window I feel.

Will you be applying for the Head of Recruitment job if Macia goes to West Ham? ?

I think we all would but in a few of Puel’s pressers he’s said that we literally could not get a like for like replacement even if we wanted to, so have to make it up as a team. There is a reason why he went for 60m after all. I do agree that I think we could have found a better replacement but let’s give the lad a chance first - he may surprise us.

Whilst he may be a risk at least we signed someone. For a long time it looked like we wouldn’t. Hence it’s the first window I can recall where did get at least one player for every problem position.

Just in case people aren't sure how to pronounce his name.  Here is that tweet from the transfer thread again:

I'm sure I've danced to that at a rave circa 1989...

I make that Charleh Swoonj

So I'm going to call him Charleh and occasionally swoon.

Whatever it is mate, I'm just glad we're this side of the Midlands pronouncing it and not with a thick Dudley accent or a Geordie one, for that matter.

I'm just going to go with Caglar and hope for the best.

Proven is pricey, plus Ghezzal is talented AF. If Puel can get him to be consistent, he's a choice signing, brings the width we need and demands a second defender when he is one-on-one on the wing, he will really open up the defense when opposite Gray with Maddison and Vardy in the middle, teams won't be able to shade us the way they have historically. Give him 4-5 games, i suspect we'll all be singing his praises, as this promises to be the most balanced attack we've had in the Vardy era.
