Played another 90 mins for Turkey in their 2-3 comeback win against Sweden. Good for fitness so should at least be making the bench sooner rather than later

He looked a bit fitter than last weeks game

was still a bit stand offiish but made a couple of decent challenges

I watched around 30 minutes of the game just to watch Soyuncu (for the first time)

He didn't do a great deal but then he didn't have a great deal to do. The vast majority of his action involved square passing across the back, either to the other centre back or to the left full back. A couple of longer passes were misplaced and gave away possession.

Positionally, he seems OK but tends to stand off - though I did see one excellently timed challenge on Berg. He didn't seem rash nor overly aggressive.

Sweden play quick, counter attacking football, usually to feet, so Soyuncu didn't have aerial bombardment to deal with - so I couldn't gauge what he was like dealing with crosses etc.

Overall, he looked composed, comfortable and at ease. If he looked a little lazy and unadventurous then that may have been how he was asked to play - he kept it simple.

There is something Maguire-esque about him, in a been 'a big bloke lumbering' kind of a way. But, my word, he's a youthful looking bloke. I know he is only 22 but he looks 10 years younger. A real baby face!

Give him a chance.  He will be fine.

He might need to bide his time a little longer because Evans played well today. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Let Soyuncu play against Wolves and gradually build his way into the team. If he’s good enough then it’ll soon be inevitable he takes Evans spot.

But not even to get on the bench? Our CB cover was Fuchs.

Eh? Sloppy on the ball, about as aware of his surroundings as a blotto Stevie Wonder for their goal. Improved second half but first half he was comfortably the worst player on the pitch.

We have this obsession with new signings having to play straight away.

Look at Klopp and Liverpool. Didn’t play Andy Robertson for three months and now he’s class. Hasn’t given Fabinho any minutes yet and it’s nearly October.

Patience!

Yep, don't understand the rush in bringing in Söyüncü.

There's this weird obsession with some fans that they equal new signing=best thing since sliced bread.

Let the manager decide. I thought apart from a shaky start in the first half, Maguire and Evans complemented each other well - Maguire able to move into the opposing half, with Evans sitting back in our own half.

New signings are supposed to be better than what you have already otherwise what's the point.  Benkovic was the one for the future, Soyuncu I would have expected to play.

His signing was a club record for a centre half.  We needed to bring in centre halves with an ageing Morgan and departed Huth, I think it is reasonable to expect a new signing to get into the team.

Amartey could go CB and then Pereira can go RB

A valid option yet the 3 games previous we've had 3 defenders on the bench when there was enough flexibility to cover should we need to replace a defender. It's odd he wasn't on the bench and a bit of a pisser for him I suspect.
