On paper now it gets a lot easier :

Bournemouth ( A )

Huddersfield ( H )

Newcastle ( A )

Everton ( H )

Arsenal ( A )

West Ham ( H )

Cardiff ( A )

Burnley ( H )

Brighton ( A )

Watford ( H )

Fulham ( A )

Say 5 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses from the above and we would be sitting on 23 points from 15 matches.

Be happy with that before a horror run of fixtures in December.

You look at those fixtures and we should be looking at winning the majority of them, obviously we won't (and for the record I don't mean that in a negative way, I mean it in a realistic way, I wouldn't expect Man City win every single one of those games - bumps in the road, disappointments happen - pathetic I even need to explain myself but no doubt someone would pick holes in what I said)

Points wise so far after a hard start has been satisfactory, this will now be the acid test for Puel, no excuses.

The fears I have? The issues that we've not played well in the games we've won so far, in games you'd expect us to play well and win, so i'll be looking for more complete performances, also I think the run of games we had after January last season where there was a feeling that we could really pick up some points in the type of games we should have won a majority of we struggled in and had that poor run of form.

These how many points from next x games posts are cursed. Remember the one in 12/13 when we were playing well and we ended up bottling automatic promotion and got deeney'd.

Bournemouth and Arsenal will be the toughest games.

We should be looking to win all those home games. I'll be disappointed if we don't take points away from Newcastle, Cardiff and Brighton.

32 points.

33 points from 11 straight wins, minus 1 point for Puel baring his arse at Neil Warnock.

Seems a reasonable ambition.

We've not beaten Bournemouth since their rise to the Premier League so I'd be happy with another point there. Huddersfield at home, we should be winning that, so ask again after those two games are out of the way.

With this run of games I would be disappointed with the initial estimate.

If we are as good as we hope we are to end up on 26-27 points would be my guess.

It’s a. sunny morning in the East Midlands so must have my optimistic hat on!

Ask me after Huddersfield. I know we beat them 3-0 at home last year but I think it will show the difference in us from last season by how we deal with breaking down a team that comes to be unambitious, something we were shit at in the second half of last season.

I always look at taking 3 points from a home game against everyone except the top 6. 1 point from an away game aginst those same teams. That's 52 points over the season with the chance of taking a few points against the top 6 to put us into Europe. That's why I am more than happy with our 6 so far (should be 4). Would want 20 from those 11 and hope for more.

I'd be more than disappointed, Newcastle are a bang average Championship side surviving thus far due to a very good manager, Cardiff are that lame Zebra you see on a Safari show targeted by the Lions, Hyenas and Wild Dogs all at the same time and Brighton are the tiring swimmer splashing around in shark infested waters.

That seems sensible to me. Some of the responses here would suggest people think we'll be knocking on the door of the top four.

Absolutely no idea to be honest as we are the definition of a work in progress side and there aren’t many easy games in this league.

So far we’ve played well against two teams that finished in the top four last season and lost but played average in two others and won. So hard to predict with any certainty what will happen.

What will be fascinating to see is how we compare to last season where we drew far too many of these games and just played the ball side to side for 90 minutes. So far we’ve scored in every game and look much better going forward. I hope that’s a permanent change and not just a flash in the pan. Puel’s had 5 games in total this season so I think after 10 (and ideally after 10 PL games) we will be able to gauge where we are as a team.

If I had to guess I’d go for 22 points from those games.
