Of the teams above only really Watford could be seen as a team we "should be better than".  Not sure which of Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal people think we should be ahead of?  I get that some people prefer the way we used to play and I understand we have not yet looked truly great this season but honestly, why on Earth some people seem so negative at the moment is beyond me.  If I were a more cynical person I would think that some people sagged Puel off so much that that are now in a position where they are so painfully insecure about their own standing in life that rather than admit they were wrong to be so harsh so soon they would rather just keep peddling the same weird drivel.  It's like when Keegan just kept saying Leonardo's elbow was not a foul because he was too weak to hold his hands up and say he had made a mistake.  Humility is a strength not a weakness.  I am wrong all the time but at least I admit it.  I once had highlighted curtains and a step cut.  I can admit it made me look a cvnt.  X

Interesting to hear his thoughts. Praises it as a good team performance both offensively and defensively. Thinks we can do better and didn’t control the game for the entire 90 but did well.

As mentioned earlier that’s Puel’s style - to control the game. If you’re on top for the full 90 minutes consistently then you’ll win more games than not. However, our team is evolving. Last season we also controlled matches but our “control” consisted of drab sideways passing. Sure we controlled the game but made very little and thus only started to play after going behind.

This season as a team we are much better. We keep possession but we make more chances. We attack much better as a team though only in the last 2 games have we really defended as a team. There’s still lots of room for improvement but this was a very mature display from the youngest team in the league and that in itself is impressive.

Managed to watch the second half on a choppy stream.

Very comfortable, a clean sheet, more positive performances from certain players.

Newcastle were poor, they have too many Championship quality players.

Bournemouth loss aside, we're beating the teams we should be beating, positive performances against Man Utd and Liverpool too, can't complain, it's looking decent at the minute.

Spot on!

I’m not digging this alternating triumphalism between the Puel ins and outs, depending on the latest result.  It drowns out the longer view and the joys of supporting the club through its inevitable ups and downs.

Whether we win or lose a given match, it’s not because the footy gods decide to punish the so-and-so’s on the other side of the argument.  It’s simply the latest sample of a work in progress.  A season is a mile, not a sprint.

I happen to think we’ll need to play more consistently to pick up points in our next three.  I also happen to be optimistic, since (Bournemouth excepted) we do seem to play up or down towards the level of our opponent.

Great point and couldn't agree more. That having been said it is a forum for opinions, so I just roll with it. The kicker is the few who are negative on everything. They know who they are!

As someone else said, credit were credit due, better performance, even though Newcastle were/are awful. Can even swallow my pride by saying Morgan had a good game...

Agaisnt better opposition (even Bournemouth) that’s not going to win loads away from home but defensively... it’s a much better performance ... I’ll give Puel another week ?

Well done Leicester. Not surprised to see us winning away under Puel as it's easier to counter attack, the acid test is breaking down defensive teams come to counter attack at the KP and that is where he will ultimately succeed or fail.

Maguire MOTM? Should have given away a blatant penalty and the last ditch tackle was only because he was miles out of position originally and they got in behind him?

I’ve not read anything after this post but if you think that was a blatant penalty you are insane.

I think you’re right but at the moment it’s hard to give the man anything but praise.

Thats a really good win today. No frills, just a very solid victory.

The game was anything but counter attack today. Had to dominate possessions as Newcastle stuck plenty behind the ball

 When?

Tidy, professional performance, nothing to really rave about, nothing to complain about. Newcastle look in trouble, offered nothing beyond joselu(?) being too slow to pull the trigger (looked like he was running it out of play tbh, received it one v one and in a good shooting position, dallied and narrowed his angles before slabhead dealt with it).

I didn’t see a replay because my stream froze after the event but that Joselu chance that Maguire saved with a great slide tackle... wasn’t it not his fault initially for stepping up instead of dropping off? Hopefully it’s on motd

I'd hate to be stuck behind you at the bar when you're deciding what to drink.

Not happening is it? Five minutes of listening to the bloke behind me moaning that the landlord's a cnut for not serving Lambrini and I'd be out of there.

Don't bother mate we were drivel.  We only had 20% more possession than them and we dared only to have twice as many shots as them and can you believe Puel let them have a shot on target during the match?  If you watch closely as Shelvey hits it from the half way line you can see that it was Puel's lack of charisma in his press conferences not quite pressing quickly enough that allowed him to get the shot off in time.  I've ripped up my season ticket to be honest and done a poo on my Liecester City calendar right on Morgan's fat, grinning face.

:appl:

Keep up the quality work. Hopefully 'Puel out' will cease to be a thing soon, under the weight of events. Like Brexit.
