The Srivaddhanaprabha family and everyone at Leicester City Football Club have been deeply moved by the remarkable volume of generous and thoughtful tributes left at King Power Stadium in the wake of the tragedy of 27 October that claimed the lives of five people, including our beloved Chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

The extraordinary scenes of compassion and condolence demonstrated on Filbert Way in the last week have been an enormous source of comfort and strength to the families involved and to everyone whose lives have been touched by recent events. The support of our fans, our community and the football world during this darkest of weeks will never be forgotten.

In the spirit of this, ahead of Saturday’s visit of Burnley (10 November) the Club will begin the process of carefully and respectfully relocating tributes, ensuring the compassion, kindness and love that have been so evident in the last week are sentiments that will endure.

On Friday 9 November, the final day of Khun Vichai’s funeral in Bangkok, floral tributes will be relocated to a designated area close to the accident site near the south-east corner of King Power Stadium.

The Club would like to invite supporters to be part of this relocation, which is closer to the accident site.  Our fans created this stadium tribute, and we dearly wish for you all to be part of the relocation of the flowers, now that the accident site has recently been handed back to the club.

Please contact [email protected] with ‘Tributes’ in the subject line to volunteer your services, and we will endeavour to include as many people as we reasonably can.

An accessible route to the memorial area will be clearly signposted off Raw Dykes Road on approach to the stadium and can be seen on the map below. Supporters wishing to place further floral tributes after this time are requested to do so at the designated memorial area, not in front of the stadium.

We are constrained by matchday regulations in relation to the brick weave at the front of the stadium, so we stress that all supporters should place their own floral tributes at Car Park E, as per the guidelines above.

The marquee housing the book of condolence, which has received thousands of entries since opening, will also be relocated to Car Park E, close to the accident site, until Friday 16 November. The book of condolence will be in the same location on matchdays for the foreseeable future and in the Foxes Fanstore on non-matchdays.

The Club’s online book of condolence remains open at lcfc.com/condolence.

Also, on 9 November, the Club will begin the process of relocating the irreplaceable assortment of gifts of shirts, scarves, flags and personal mementos that have formed such a unique aspect  of the recent tributes. Many fans have donated their most treasured possessions, to the memory of our Chairman.

A number of these will be used to create a pitchside display for Saturday’s match. Longer term, material tributes will be collected, preserved and appropriately stored as it is the Club’s intention to incorporate such artefacts into the planned redevelopment and expansion of King Power Stadium - a project Khun Vichai announced on his 60th birthday earlier this year. This process will be managed by respected Club Historian John Hutchinson, in consultation with conservation experts at Leicestershire County Council.

Further suggestions from supporters relating to long-term acknowledgement have been noted. The Club will develop its plans for a permanent, lasting tribute with the families of those involved at the appropriate time, and we will have a major announcement in this regard at the Burnley fixture.

The Club would once again like to thank everyone for their extraordinary support and understanding in recent days.

We are a family, and we must take care of each other in these dark days, and become stronger, together.

Brilliant from the club again, getting fans involved at every turn.

[harpendenfox]

Wonderful ideas beautifully presented by the Club, which continues to surpass itself  through these difficult days.

I wonder what the 'permanent , lasting' tribute will be ?

Sounds like it will be a statue.

We are a brilliant football club.  Some fantastic ideas with full involvement of the fans.

[rachhere]

They really ‘get it’ from a fans perspective don’t they. Just appreciating that some

people have given their most prized possessions in tribute and being so respectful of this. I know this is really just conveying information, but I found the whole article really moving.

[Burgh foxes]

Give all our support to top now ,he needs it more than us ,he lost more than us .

[VLC86]

Cheers for this, i haven’t welled up since Saturday so this was well over due .

In all seriousness it is another great touch and if I can help with the relocation I will definitely be putting myself forward.

this thought entered my head. Confirmation of east stand expansion and to be renamed the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha stand.

Beautiful and heartfelt.

And true.

Class. A word used so much in the past few weeks but it's the only word. Even the club's articles are so much better these days.

Love this part of it.

[stripeyfox]

Fabulous. They've done amazing this last week or so. When you think about the petty complaints about crap toilets, catering and ticket office etc, when it come to the crunch, they have really nailed it in the aftermath of the crash

I'd love to know who has been at the heart of everything over the past weeks? Because just like Vichai they haven't put a foot wrong.

So much class displayed.

Pure guesswork, but the tone and wording has Susan Whelan written all over it.

Very detail orientated. Ultra respectful of Thai/Buddhist traditions. Sensitive, and a little surprised even, at how the fans have reacted.

Was it Henry Winter or Rob Dorset who wrote about her clarity and decision making in the minutes after the crash had been impressive?

That really did tug at the heartstrings

[UniFox21]

Complete hats off to the club and Top here; instead of both going to privately morn (which would be completely understandable), they've seen how much Vichai touched the fans and people of leicester and are grieving with us.

They've turned this horrific event into a moment to bring the people of leicester and football closer together, it's incredible to witness in today's age.

[Guest Markyblue]

From the tragedy, the club and supporters, city council and emergency services have acted with class and dignity. Proud of my club and everyone involved.
