ealingfox Posted 17 January 2019 Posted 17 January 2019 We are in austerity mode now. 19m net spend over the last three windows according to the Merc. Further highlights what a good job Big Claude is doing

woznotwos Posted 17 January 2019 Posted 17 January 2019 Looks like we are concentrating on our youth set up ATM. No doubt we'll have a few bob in the Summer to spend.
goose2010 Posted 17 January 2019 Posted 17 January 2019 Early front runner for angriest poser of the year awards.....
Bert Posted 17 January 2019 Posted 17 January 2019 We have two good ones. Sadly the striker gets no service because the attacking midfielder constantly gets played out of position so the manager can shoehorn in 3 defensive midfielders.

To be fair we have won a high percentage of games when the manager has "shoehorned" in 3 defensive midfielders.

Is it rudkin or puel, puel clearly stating he doesn’t need or want to work in the January window, he’s got lots of players unhappy with lack of games, and wants outgoing’s to balance the squad, is that what he really thinks, or has he been told he’s getting nothing, so is he being professional, and not throwing the people who decide under the bus? We have plenty of strikers and attacking players in the squad, but he chooses not to play them in the right way, defence comes first for puel, so as much as I would like to see better attacking quality players brought in, what’s the point of bringing players in that more than likely won’t get used
hackneyfox Posted 17 January 2019 Posted 17 January 2019 Plenty of strikers??? Perhaps but only one good one who scores occasionally. I think there's a player in Iheanacho but probably needs to leave. Okazaki is finished and has never scored or assisted at a decent rate. Not many attacking players that are good enough for a team trying for 7th. Gray - poor Albrighton - works hard but pointless crosses Ricardo - The best we have Deidre - Really not sure about him yet. Maddison - Needs to step up
spacemunky Posted 17 January 2019 Posted 17 January 2019 Sunderland til I die!!! edit: Oops, wrong forum.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 17 January 2019 Posted 17 January 2019 Yes, we do. But right now, in January, when players prices are inflated and the best are not available either... probably not.
Livid Posted 17 January 2019 Posted 17 January 2019 We've got a training ground and possible stadium expansion to fund, I fear we're tightening our belts.

Not exactly pocket change either. Add to that the fact he already had players like Kasper, Maguire, Chilwell, Vardy, N'didi and so on... Not sure the net spend thing is that amazing IMO.
SheppyFox Posted 17 January 2019 Posted 17 January 2019 I hate not buying new players, it’s the most frustrating time of the season for me when it’s so quiet ?

Top and Rudkin wil be pretty pleased with it I imagine
Toddybad Posted 17 January 2019 Posted 17 January 2019 I agree we need a back up striker and winger but it's not football manager. In the real world football clubs don't just stack players. Realistically we can let ghezzal and nacho go in the summer and replace.
