Doesn’t matter what is chosen, it will get criticism. Clearly doesn’t fancy Hamza in a 2 for some reason. Excited by the potential on the counter attack. We’ll see.

Mixed feelings about this:

 

Great that he has dropped the three DCM's approach.

Happy to see Ricardo as a winger as he is probably our best one right now.

Glad to see Barnes start, as well as Gray given another chance. 

 

BUT

 

Harsh on Choudary who has been our best CM recently

Maddison needs to start IMO as think he has the ability to unlock defences

Simpson as RB is a weakness in terms of attack but understand lack of option if push Ricardo up

 

Overall, I'm glad he changed it but would have done it slightly different personally. 

 

Excited to see Barnes start. Will be a tough game though. Just hope we start well and can hit Wolves on the counter as they will no doubt have a lot of the ball.

Mendy shat the bed last game, but Puel is giving him a chance to rectify his mistakes. In my opinion, that's pretty fair; Hamza will be waiting to take his spot if he mucks up again, though.

I'm a big fan of Choudhary and I'm surprised he's been dropped but people turning on Mendy is a bit harsh. He's been very consistent up until last week. 

 

He was awful against Southampton but so were Kasper, Chilwell, Ricardo, Vardy, Ndidi and basically everyone else. 

 

I'm not convinced he deserves to be hung out to dry. Give him a chance to redeem himself.

Think he's been average at best all season to be honest, he's only playing because he was Puel's captain at Nice. Puel has never tries Choudhury in a two though, at least this season so he was never going to throw him in today.
